ps-I can't help but to find your quote of the *** editing issue a bit ironic, even though you've done the same with your sig. not trying to start anything or be disrespectful to anyone in any manner, merely making an observation:)

:rotfl2:Touche! I had forgotten all about that. Guess it makes me look like a bit of a hypocrite.

Fixed.

Had to fix mine too (Even though it was a quote) :har:

Should I give myself a warning?

I think you should keelhaul yourself, and then make up new accounts so you can come back and tell everybody what a jerk you were for doing that to yourself.

I think we may have to live with what we have as a building block.
Im not playing SHV in current state, ive shelved it until it combomes what it should be.... and Im done with Sh3 & 4.

Actually, just looking at the games industry as it is I wouldn't be surprised if they did offer expansion packs. A lot of games do that, you have the core game and then after it's been out a bit an expansion pack or add on is offered for a price. If (and this is a big IF) SH5 was to follow that model you have the main game, it's tweaked by a few patches, and then an expansion would be released containing a playable Type II/Type IX, or more missions that take you to the end of the war. It's total speculation, but it makes sense with what Ubisoft has done with other games like Assassin's Creed. It's just the business model with today's games.

I agree entirely with Oscar's sentiments. The other night I had finally had enough and removed my heavily modded SH5 from the HDD. The disk is now in its box awaiting its resurrection day, but when or if that will ever be is anybody's guess. I am now back with SH3 LSH (and WAC, GWX, NYGM and SH4 with RFB/RSRD). Playing modded SH3 again has been like undergoing post trauma therapy.

Beautiful graphics in SH5; great efforts from the modders, but...I just get no pleasure from the game: it's so incomplete. And I say "game" not "simulator".

What finally made me throw the towel in was a little foray into Scapa Flow. I approached the base in the twilight on the surface, submerged at the entrance to the Flow. Only one DD sniffing around. I torpedoed Ark Royal. Got 4 eels into her. She took several hours to go down, which was not the case in reality. I slipped out of the Flow unmolested, not an RN vessel in sight. In the early hours of the following morning I attacked a cargo vessel. I decided to surface in order to see if His Majesty's navy would at last respond to my presence. I sank two coasters by gunfire and in broad daylight within sight of the Scottish coast. Not an RN vessel to be seen. I then set a course for Kiel.

It was then that I decided to go back to SH3 and SH4.

Nice graphics though.

I agree this is the "new" business model, for better or worse. I think it's also the best evidence that Ubi has washed their hands of the SH series, and there won't be any more patches (or an expansion/DLC). They threw away the potential for selling us DLC, by releasing the game in such a crippled condition.

There is probably still a window of time to patch it up to the point where the core subsim community would pay for DLC, but that window is fast slipping away....

I don't think you were using the right mods in that case.

Ubi is killing shV since the release

They released an unfinished game, the first patch donīt fix anything that modders donīt fix before, and after all, the silence of ubi about future patches and upgrades is freezing all optimism and modders expectatives.

People are waiting for news, but never arrive. I hope that ubi say some thing about the game, if Finished or waiting patch. :nope:

I was a real fan of SH5 when it was released but even with some of the excellant mods, I have turned my back on it.
I have no interest or desire to go back to it, ever.
I now play SH3 GWX and SH4 with op monsun and OMEGU.
I would love the GWX team to go back to SH4 but my time with SH5 is finished.
I refuse to buy another ubisoft game for any system I own.
Wiyhbthe state of the gaming industry at the moment I can see myself giving up gaming quite soon. I have other interests that deserve my time and is more rewarding.

Was the original post even necessary?

Why another post about how bad SH5 is?

Why do we keep having such posts getting made?

If you don't like the game, then don't play it.

If you want the game improved, then either download some of the incredible mods being offered, or get in the scripts and codes yourself and fix it.

Contribute constructive posts. No more of these negative posts please.

So that the rest of us can derail it and turn it into another zombie/alchohol conversation?

Yep. Or offer optimistic viewpoints. Or both. :D

Offering optismistic viewpoints while serving alchohol to zombies. love it.

Its gonna take some time, and a considerable ammount of work to equal sh3/gwx. but i have no doubt it can be achieved.

Don't forget; free strudel every Thursday. :yeah: You kind of have to imagine that you actually receive a free strudel, though.
