Okay, the files I edited were in my kaleun's career folder (the one with the kaleun's name as the folder name), buried down in the folder that the game install makes in My Documents. There are two files in there that I tinkered with, one is Patrols.cfg and the other is Patrols_0.cfg. NOTE: I did this while I was in base, in between patrols. I would not advise tampering with any of those files while on patrol. Others may know if it's safe to mess with some of them then, but I sure don't, and I would think that editing your patrol info in the middle of a patrol would screw things up big time. (And obviously I would not edit any of these files while actually running the game either.) Patrols.cfg, as far as I can tell, shows data for every patrol you've completed. Patrols_0.cfg, as far as I can tell, shows data for every patrol you've completed PLUS data already in place for the next patrol - the one you will be starting when you reload the game. In Patrols.cfg, at the bottom of the file, in the last section, will be the data for the last patrol you completed. Near the bottom of this section will be the line: NbDaysInBase= <--with a number here As far as I can tell, the number indicates how many extra days you will stay in base for repairs necessary due to compromised hull integrity. Just below it, you'll see the line for HullIntegrity. If your HI at the end of the patrol was 100%, the line above it should read: NbDaysInBase=0 If your HI was less than 100%, you get 1 day extra in port for each percentage point lost on patrol (rounded off). For instance, I finished one patrol with: HullIntegrity=94.459915 So the line above it looked like: NbDaysInBase=6 That means however many days I was gonna be in port (which I set or randomize via Commander), I would have 6 tacked on to that number for additional repairs/refit. So when I pulled up alongside the Corrientes for what I wanted to be a one-day resupply stop with a hull integrity of around 75%, the game gave me NbDaysInBase=25 and tacked 25 extra days onto my supply stop which Commander automatically set at 1 day. So I changed the NbDaysInBase line for that patrol (which ended with me "docked" at the Corrientes) to: NbDaysInBase=0 This took away the extra days the game was tacking onto my layover at the Corrientes. Then, IIRC, I went into Patrols_0.cfg and looked at the bottom section of data there, which was already in place for the patrol I was about to start when I loaded the game and left the Corrientes. Near the top of any section of patrol data in that file, you'll find the lines: StartYear=1940 StartMonth=6 StartDay=30 What I think I did was change the start date of the upcoming patrol to 1 day later than the end date of the last patrol (which you'll find near the top of that patrol's data in Patrols.cfg). It's possible that I didn't change it and the game automatically did it when I reloaded with the other edits I'd made, but I don't remember for sure. I'm pretty sure I changed it because at that point I had no idea if I was doing the right thing and at least wanted to make sure the relevant info I could actually see in both files all matched up nice and tidy. I assume the game uses these same files and bits of data exactly the same way whether you have a supermod and/or Commander working its magic or not, but I never played w/o it much and certainly never did any editing of this kind when I was playing stock by itself. No guarantees that any assumptions I've made are correct, of course - but that's what I did and it worked for me. |

:D I know the feeling. I started a couple of threads in the General Topics Hardware subforum when My new video card, memory and external hard drive all gave me grief. And that wasn't even monkeying with the computer itself! :dead:
