I don't see any Americans here getting uptight but perhaps that is because they took my post in the context it was meant.....namely, a joke and a reference to a monkey which in UK terms often refers to someone who is a danger not only to themselves but to those around them.

Jim made the "monkey's uncle" joke. I questioned that myself, not because of the reference but because that was always applied to Bush (as shown in that photo set).

The question OTH asked was whether a close-up ostensibly showing a close-up of president Kennedy being hit in the head by the famous bullet was funny or not. He then said he thought it was funny. Whether he meant that or was being sarcastic is beyond me. My reply was based on the idea that he was serious about thinking it was funny.

If it was meant to be a sarcastic comment on Jim's post, I think a simple "I'm sorry, I don't find that funny", or "I don't get it" would have been more appropriate.

At least that's the way I would have done it.

Yes im not quite sure of two things;

1. What Kennedy getting his head blown off has to do with Obama Jokes

2. why anyone would find an assassination funny

it seems that for some reason, OTH - especially lately - has been posting for the purposes of rousing anger, racism and hate in the general membership.
