Would someone PLEASE tell me JUST HOW.... on PLANET EARTH... is Ubisoft going to offer
VASELINE as a free/compensatory download????? HMMMMM???? :down::down::down: |
I'd consider myself compensated if they don't quit patching the game and introduce some features that "didn't make it into the game because of lack of time". :salute:

No subject

The reference says explicitly that the free compensation is for both ACII and SHV. I am really curious what that will be.

Isn't it obvious?
Our sub captain is getting an optional "Emilio" outfit to wear onboard the sub. And Emilio is getting an optional "German U-boat Ace" outfit to wear while he's out and about in Venice. :rotfl2: |
They'll probably grant you a 10-days free trial coupon. For their upcoming SH "Pay to play" theme.

Uplay 'points" maybe? Whatever those do.

That is EXACTLY what it means. That is what the DRM is all about, and anyone thinking otherwise is fooling themselves. The shareholders statement mentioned in another thread essentially confirmed their marketing strategy going forward, with this series as well as future Ubisoft games. The DRM is not just copy protection and it never was...rather it is a means to sell us additional content whilst controlling distribution of that content at the same time. For this reason alone you can give up any hope of UBI removing the DRM for the life of the game, as it is inherent in their current marketing strategy. This should not come as any surprise to anyone following current software marketing strategy with many other companies. It started with console games, and since the profit margins on paid DLC are higher than new releases...they are carrying this same strategy over to the PC market. Of course the only way that they can do that is through restrictive always-on DRM. So yes, expect: "New! Type IX upgrade available for only $14.99" "New! Elite crew package w/ upgraded optics only $9.99" "New! 6 new Merchant ships w/special FX only $14.99" "New! Camo pack for type VII and IX only $9.99" Think I am wrong? They already test-marketed this with the U.S. "Gold Edition" which was nothing more than a few rare skins and a manual that should have been included in ALL versions...for only $10 more. Anyone that paid for the "Gold Edition" proved to UBI that there is a market for DLC add-on sales. The idea has already shown itself in games such as Rise of Flight and Wings of Prey, so don't be surprised to see it applied to SHV very very soon... (by the way, I am NOT defending this...just calling it for what it is, as some do not seem to be aware of what is coming) :damn: |
They will provide us with microchip for dogs... I mean for players...
As soon as you loose connection - it will register all your bitching, crying and shouting via satelite ! No need to vomit at Subsim loo... if you're DRM sick. Just you and Ubi... forums free. :smug: |
