Are you suggesting that 80% of the Community are not going to buy SH5? If so, I think you are very wrong. I think you are in the minority.

To clarify, I am suggesting that anyone who does not buy SH5 can't really love Subsims, what else is there!? You guys can't exactly afford to be picky! The Silent Hunter series is the best subsim series there has ever been! What are you talking about?! This can't be just the language barrier.

If you can afford a computer powerful enough to run SH5 smoothly (Even I can't at the moment and I have a dual core processor and 8000 Series NVidia Card), you can afford broadband internet connectivity. The majority of people who will buy SH5 have broadband. It's 2010, broadband has NEVER cut-out on me, so to suggest that DRM (or whatever the hell it's called) is a problem is completely ludicrous to me.

Hay!

I am a Virtual Pilot, yet have not bought FSX/acceleration nor Falcon 4.0
i am into Il-2, Cfs3 and Lomac though.

Whats this nonsense anyway, true subsimmer vs not-true subsimmer?

Yall are a bunch of Keyboard users and Mice clickers! nothing more nothing less. And me too.

we dont even eat Navy food!

:rock::rotfl2:

and SHV is a FPS or RPG game, we should close the SHV forum entirely by March 6!
Just wait and see!

then the SHV GAMERS will be cast out of the Simmers Elite, and what remains is the SHII, III and IV crews laughing about a bunch of kiddos.

(---> Just an exercise to see if i can post such strong and absurde comments as good as the next fellow.)

Are you serious when you say things like that? So if I play Aces Of The Deep and not SH4 or 5 I don't really love Subsims? :o

That's exactly what I am saying. The name of this website is subsim, not u-boat sim.

What do you mean you're not playing SH5?! No one is, it hasn't come out yet!

If you're dissmissing Sh5 without even playing it, then I am flat-out telling you you're not a subsim fan.

Do You think that planet earth is UK ?
How would people afford broadbend connection if there is no line?

Does Toyota or Ford control what you do with your car?
Do they pose conditions and restrictions... in starting and parking?

If you feel happy to be "on Ubi chain"... go for it, but please without "lessons" to us...

The General, hmmm, thinks we are stupid. I have only one thing to say to him.

Moo :D

I think you should give consideration to the fact that many people aren't on broadband connections because of it's cost or possibly even the fact that it might not be available in their area.

Even with a broadband connection you have failed to recognise the vital ingrediant.....the Ubi server, will it work trouble free and will it be able to supply enough capacity to meet the expected demand.

Personally, I'm currently on a 50MB connection but that will mean squat if I'm locked out of the server.

PLEASE PEOPLE!! lets NOT have this turn into yet ANOTHER DRM thread please!! There are enough of those out there allready.

Speak for yourself, I know a restaurant near where I live that serves chow just about like I ate aboard the USS Sarsfield EDD 837 in 56-57. ( sig. )

We had better food on that DD than some superior restaurants in the world.:D

Although I can not say that about eating on the base at Key West were we were stationed at the time.

I really did want SHV but now I find out the chow is poisoned, so forget it unless the OSP/DRM or whatever they want to call it is removed period.:arrgh!:

Now excuse me for its chow time here. :DL

There are people, like me, to whom the requirement for internet connection is a minor annoyance compared to game play.

If, and a huge if that is, SH5 turns out to be a really good simulator, with good game play at the realism levels I am looking for, with more actionable features (working hydrophone, better plotting capabilities, etc.) I would probably deal with the annoyance of a permanent connection.

I won't like it, but I can compromise on this.

However, connection or no connection, if SH5 is a crappy graphic focused arcade game, the issue of connection won't even come up.

That's why I want to know more about the game playing aspects of the game. Perhaps I am alone in this or not. I won't speak for other Simmers.

V.C. Sniper 01-31-10 05:29 PM

i want to see 100% realism!!!!

No your not alone on the SHV subject I'm sure, but you are dog-gone close.:03:
