Yes, forgot that part in my post. :hmmm:

I want them out of the box too, but knowing they won't be, I won't be buying until they are...even if that means waiting for the budget "Gold Edition" version.

I thoroughly enjoy playing a SH3 Late 43-45 career if nothing else than having some newer toys like schnorkel and radar detection to play with. The challenge of survivng particularly if you attempt to interrupt the D-Day invasion fleet in GWX is a fantastic buzz for me.

It won't be everyone's cup of tea but the sense of acheivement of getting a long shot salvo hit on a fast moving, heavily protected target during this period is something that you have to experience to understand.

That and the great Allied air raids that GWX have modded into that period make for a brilliant gaming experience for when you want something different that the 1939/40 Happy Times turkey shoot.

Without these elements for me SH5 is going to be a bit less interesting though I'm sure there will be plenty of challenges that we are yet to see.

Surface crusing in war patrols... with sunsets and dawns is just my passion, and feeling of representing one war side at open endless ocean...

39-41 being hunter, lot of surface crusing
42-43 being fighter... some surface crusing
44-45 being hunted, closed 24h

But on the other side... there is a passion and fun - in surprising mighty US/UK navy in a late 44 ( lone wolf )

Personally I could live without the last part... 3d sub-interior and crew interaction - should be a part of your experience.
Closed 24h... you would be fed-up quite soon

I'd like to make that choice myself instead of a game limiting me out of the box. Sandboxes is the way forward.

I did not expect this, at all, and I won't buy it on the spot now. I'll wait for players reviews and/or news of adding 1944 and 1945.

last night i thought about:

"will i go and buy the game on march 2nd, just to see, how modable it is? dare, i would! but, no. i have to wait a few days and see, what others are saying. maybe its better to get a copy elsewhere, if its just for modding"

I will probably buy this thing when launched, because I love this franchise..but I realize perfectly that a serious review if the sim is necessary if you want to know if this SH5 is really worth your money..

Couldn't enter the poll, and I do not wish for a 1944-1945 add-on.
It should be included with the initial release, as should the other boat types.
