This game is like a marriage, you can get as much or little out of it as you desire, but it depends on how you choose to interact with the game and people itself.
When I nag and complain to by wife, amazing changes take place. The boat starts to sink, the tube doors won't open and the scope remains broken. Planes show up everywhere and bombs fall like rain. When I speak to her with respect and admire her, things work as funtioned and I might find greater treasures. Simply, if you ask nicely without complaining about everything, the results will be much better. To say they're are no ships show an unwillingness to learn how the game is played. I use TMO with RSRD. Know where battles and shipping lanes are. Like most, I'm out of torps before I get to a patrol zone. I constantly let ships go in search of bigger more dangerous game. I spend most of my time in week long battles in convoys containing 30-50 ships 99% of people love the work of the mods.....here the majority wins. Webster cannot and wouldn't step down over such silliness. Course he could ban you forever and instead has been rather nice...so I would treat him with some respect. Still, I think some prefer just to stir the pot, rather than look for results. |

Yup, I am not afraid to share the same room as an opinion or a decision. That's served me well and ruffles some feathers. So be it. That's who I am.
Word of advice. Those who ruffle feathers of others have their own ruffled in turn. If you can't take it, stop dishing it out. I can take it. Not being a moderator, I can say things they can't. I have to commend Webster for stepping outside his normal impartial moderator shoes to state the obvious. He's done that a couple of times to his credit and raised my opinion of him measurably. That and a couple dollars will buy him a cup of cheap coffee. You're not a moderator either. Insulting moderators and other members is against the rules here at Subsim. If we weren't such a friendly place you'd be on bread and water, eyeing that rat in the corner with mouth watering, wishing you had a fork. Fortunately, we're a good bunch of guys, you're entertaining but harmless, and we all know TMO better than you and know your criticism has value for very few but yourself. Nobody forced you to load up TMO. Ducimus does what he does and it rocks! But nobody, especially he, ever claimed it was perfect. Like all great mods (see Brand X over in SH3) its genius is sometimes in using very unrealistically hardwired game effects in tandem to produce a very playable and exciting result, and sometimes a very realistic result. His awards during the past year speak for themselves and he needs to apologize to no one. Neither do I. I am what I am and that is both my strength and my weakness. What you see is what you get, whether in Subsim, on the street or at my job. I continue to call into serious question any complaints about scarcity of targets in TMO with or without RSRD. No credible poster has reported that. Anyway, I'm five points down on the Neal Stevens scoreboard here, the only one that counts in this joint! |
