Hello Lurker,
I have another issue. I keep getting a CTD. When I got the first one I figured it was maybe something on my end. I completely removed and re installed SH4. I have also re downloaded and unzipped the mods but the problem still occurs. I start a career in the 2nd Flotilla type IX in the earliest date in 39. I run the first patrol no problem. When I return to base around Sept 22nd I dish out medals and rank advancements load torpedoes. I then leave base, ends up being October 28 I believe. Everything works fine till I save the game again. When I try to open the save or the entering or leaving base save, the game CTD's. It does not seem to matter when I save either, can be one game day or 4 game day's etc. Thanks in advance. |

Stupid Steve strikes again. I was doing the new training missions and during the deck gun training I noticed my Type IX still has black holes where the guages should be. Is this something supposed to be fixed in OMEGU or do I need to install something else to take care of it?

The problem I had did not have anything to do with any of the mods or game. It seems that I had a hard drive that some how was corrupting the data it was writing. 5 patrols on new drive with no issues. This mod along with OM is fantastic. Thanks to you for all your efforts and to the other modders involved in your work. |

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to rework damage model to RFB2? It'll be excellent I think.
Do you have such plan? |

I have noticed it when for sinking of Yamato in both case in your excellent campaigns(RSRDC) was required ten torpedoes. And after hits of six torpedoes the speed of the goal did not decrease. :)

Nit, you won't be sinking the Yamato as a German. I've sunk my fair share of Queen Elisabeth battleships and they go down with just 3 torpedoes. Oh wait... I increased the damage by 20%... so... 4 torpedoes. If you hit a critical munitions magazine the effects will be dramatic. I've sunk a Heavy cruiser with just one torpedo under the engine room. The torpedo went a bit aft and struck the second turret area. I didn't expect that, I only hoped to disable it.
Most ships sink with just one magnetic torpedo if you aim it well. Note that ripping open a full cargo hold doesn't do **** in real life either. Always aim for the center of the ship. Worst case scenario, you'll disable their engines. The damage model is very realistic and the only problem is that the new KMFS ships don't show visible damage and don't start to visually sink until they are registered as sunk. PS. I'm not exactly sure where the Water holds are on the ships or if they're even modelled. On modern ships they're situated at the stern. Flooding that area will only make the crew thirsty, not sink the ship :) |
