wow, MW2 sounds like a weak game.
Ahhh CoD when it was all pc. No grenade indicator, you had to listen for the tell-tale sound. No health regeneration either. CoD and the United Offensive expansion offered me some of the most fun I've had in first person multiplayer. The artillery barrage in UO was hilariously unfair at times though. I loved being the one dishing it out:yeah:. Gotta love 64 player battles on decent sized maps. I so miss CoD1 Search & Destroy mode with 64 players. That **** was intense!
I wonder why that game 'Joint Ops' never really got popular. I think you could play 120-something multiplayer in it. It was hella fun, but often became laggy as hell when I tried it.:nope: It was pretty cool when a team was losing a point, and then a bunch of em would pick mortars and bomb the hell out of the point, much to the dismay of the enemy that just captured it and decided to spawn there.
I'd like to see a new CoD with at least 64 player multiplayer AND decent sized maps right out of the box. I don't know how, but the maps in CoD1, despite being fairly small, felt just right for hectic (but not ridiculous) 64-player fights. Oh man I just remembered deployable machine guns in UO. They were awesome. Do the CoD game's still have those? Those mg's made capture-the-flag a more dangerous game.

There's some Tactical Realism servers out there for COD2 - I was a big medal of honour spearhead fan (with all of the obj servers etc) and was saddened by the decline in the MOH gaming community. However COD2 is still packing in the WW2 experience with up to 64 players online, dedicated servers, console, anticheat admin (PB) and all of the controls you'd expect from a first class PC shooter.
Have you tried COD WAW?
One of the main reasons the last MOH title (MOH Airborne) fell on its face was due to the singular lack of multiplayer support, and with the whole game essentially playing like it was ported from a console to the pc. I was soooo looking forwards to that game, but was left feeling cheated. It was a great looking game and had lots of potential for longevity, but it was not to be - EA made their money and in doing so, killed off one of the most successful FPS franchises next to the COD series of titles.
Goldorak makes some rather damning statements regarding this latest COD release:

As a short-list for killing a lively gaming community, it sure ticks all the right boxes... just like EA did with MOH Airborne.
On the basis of a short (though engaging) single player campaign, I will not be parting with my cash for this title if there is no multiplayer infrastructure.
If I wanted to play console style games I'd get a PS3 and tekken 6 and forget about playing any game more than once before throwing it in the bin, or trading it in at the second-hand game section of my local blockbuster video, for something equally transient.
