Well, if there is MP, then surely it will be sub vs sub or sub vs destroyers. Which would make another side playable, obviously you won't have Germans vs Germans.
Of course it could only apply to MP and the SP game is Germans only. :hmmm: |

youall talkin about this one... it was one of the shots from the sh4 Uboat missions addon...:yep: |
i think it simply means its reverting back to the U-boat game in the ATO, like SH3 was before SH4.
all i can say is thank god for that! the japs were hopeless in ASW. im betting that SH4 was nowhere near as popular as SH3 was. |
Yet more vague descriptions. Montreal?:hmmm:
Tuesday, August 18, 2009 " Silent Hunter 5 has been revealed by Ubisoft. In development by Ubisoft Montreal, it is the fifth installment in the Silent Hunter series produced by Ubisoft. The company has announced the Silent Hunter 5 for PC only. This means it is going to be PC exclusive title. Ubisoft didn't say anything regarding the release date of the game. Silent Hunter 5 will present the players with some famous battles that were fought in Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean when German forces took over the Allied forces. The game has so much to play in its portfolio. You can play Silent Hunter 5 from the first person view and can access every part of U boat. Well the game doesn't limits you to U boat only as it has included the battles fought in the Atlantic and Mediterranean sea now. The U boats in Silent Hunter 5 are highly detailed as are the submarines. The game gives you excellent graphical options thus presenting you with the perfect cinematic view which infact is the most advanced in any of the games Silent Hunter series. In Silent Hunter 5 for PC, players can interact with their crew members as well as can keep track of their activities. The game gives quality war strategies to the player. The game is far better in intelligence over the previous games. Enemies can upgrade themselves, can relocate if needed, and resupply the items. Artificial intelligence of Silent Hunter 5 is something that will put you in love with this game. Then the game includes new user interface for easy ship commanding and host of new features have been added to the Silent Hunter 5. Expect the Silent Hunter 5 to come by the the end of 2009 or in the beginning of 2010." posted here http://softwarengameslinkshere.blogs...-revealed.html Payoff |

It would be swell if there was an anti-sub aspect of SH5.
I guess it would be too much to hope for an updated SH5 destroyer command? I would really like a good anti-sub WWII game. |

Hang about! If im not mistaken you just posted in the wolf pack thread- saying that theres no need for AI submarines (in case they steal your kills.) http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...2&postcount=82 And yet now you want to play as Destroyers? Guess what? you gonna need AI controlled Uboats for that. I will be a very dull Anti sub campaign if we are hunting Uboats with out any Artifical intelligence ... in fact it should be like shooting fish a barrel. :rotfl: You gotta be more careful of what you wish for mate :DL |
You are not understanding the difference between the two posts, I am afraid.

I just hope that you can understand full implications of Submarine AI not being included/coded - its not just about wolfpacks, having this feature opens up a ton of other possiblilies (like Destroyer command II) Though wolf packs are the main reason for the Devs to take the time to do it, But by saying 'no' to wolf packs we are essentially also saying no to enemy submarines too - two birds one stone. That is the point I have been trying hammer though to people. ;) |
