Ok so CTD still happens when I scroll the map. Tried with and without rez fix, same sh** happened. In both ways gramaphone was playing, but I don't think it could be related to CTD I'm having :nope:

I'm going nuts and already having headache here trying to figure out what is wrong in my installation or mods or both.
Tired from treating the game like with jeweller hands honestly..

Peace of crap.. :damn:
Pardon my emotions.. but I'll find that bug in time hopefully.

I'm testing it now by disabling one mod after another and scrolling the map wildely across the screen. So far after a minute of scrolling BANG, CTD and goodnight.

So mods rejection method did not gave any results, so I made a back up of my save files and I'm going to reinstall everything clean and fresh.

BTW I was using MultiSh3 for multiple SH3 installs. one for stock and one for GWX. Had some problems when uninstalling

Then

After these errors I had to manually delete SH3 and GWX installation folders, rebooted pc, will clean registry and reinstall everything from scratch. Will do only one install with GWX this time. Will keep this thead posted if I dig something out.

Correct, but if you never run SH3 before installing GWX you have nothing to delete there.

Ok I have reinstalled GWX cleaner then ever. It has absolutely no mods enabled on JSGME, nor SH3Cmdr is installed either.

This video is explaining how CTD happens in GWX:

http://www.mediafire.com/?jqnzxynyoy3

At the end you will not see CTD window popup, because of application hang and Fraps stopped recording.

But the next second when the game froze in this video there was:

Personally I see GWX not so stable as I wanted it to be.

Yeah I did with registry clean expert.

Reinstalled stock SH3 patched it manually to 1.4 did testings, crashing in the same way :nope:

Jimbuna 08-13-09 11:50 AM

Well there is something still in there that is causing the crashes.

You stated you've used MultiSH3 in the past....have you left any files at all relating to SH3 in C\MyDocs, perhaps an installation save with a different name?

No, everything was deleted that was related to any SH3 in the installation directories and in my documents. Have you tried doing the same Jim to see if it crashes too ? Try scrolling the map wildely for about a minute and see if it's not going to crash please.

I was unable to create a ctd I'm afraid, but the crash could be down to the specs of your machine, a high number of units rendered within your vicinity or a combination of both.

No way, my machine is capable more than enough tu run SH3 with GWX.

.. My last guess is possible faulty crack for SHII v.1.4 that I use. If the crack can crash the game then I have found what I'm looking for, but so far I'm not sure if it's the crack to blame. If there are ppl who are using cracks and are also experiencing CTD's as well, please PM me.

For now at least I know what NOT to do to avoid crashings directed to sh3.exe :shifty:

I'd try it with the standard game .EXE using the disk. If you need to add the crack later you should still be able to do it, but if you suspect it then I'd DL it from somewhere else.

There is a problem, I don't have original disk to check it. I tried to install it from scratch (from .iso) but without a crack, however starforce does not want me to allow launch it without original CD inserted SH3 v1.0.

On the other hand I could try to launch SH3 legaly from v 1.4 as from this version I'm passing disk check successfully, and starforce askes to enter disk key. So if somebody could provide me with disk key for 1.4 version please also PM me.
