Personally, I'm in the camp that the kid just thought the shirt was cool.

However, the Obama's handlers should take care to assure that the First Familiy doesn't "hippy-fy" the office.

Is there a problem with that?

Wait, what would happen if she wore a Che Guevara shirt? Geez, lighten up.

Like one of Obama's Campaign offices:

The association has already been made:

The political class doesn't camp. They make the rest of us camp. I know where they are meeting was devastated by eath quakes recently, but they aren't staying there. It is a useful place to discourage protests. Certainly you remember how it was in Germany a couple/few years back when all the infrastructure was in place.

After reading this important news, I was so shocked that I ran into the kitchen again and brewed my third coffee of this day, can you believe it. I took the sweeter in the left hand and the coffee in the right, and then spend two pills into the cup. I think usually the pills dissolves faster than today, but maybe that is just me.

What is your experience with sweeter pills dissolving in hot coffee? I personally prefer them to dissolve fast. But not too fast. It depends, you know.

Wow, the exact same thing happened to me. I wonder if it's related, or if it was caused by an eleven year olds' tee shirt in Rome. Strange happenings lately.

Hey, I am not an Obama fan - but look - if the kid wants to wear that shirt - thats a right to free expression that they have by being FROM this country.

Sure, I see where some could stretch it into some political message, but this is a common symbol among the younger generation - chalk it up and let it go.

Now - when she wears a t-shirt with a medical cross and a slogan of "its a right of ALL people" - then an uproar will be called for, because that will be a direct POLITICAL message aimed at the world without any plausible deniability. This - is just bad judgement on the part of a kid who doesn't realize how people look at her. Let it go.

Oh for crying out loud (:wah:)! Next you see her wearing white shoes and say she's really an white supremacists! IT'S JUST A SHIRT!! And like someone already pointed out, there's tons of shirts and clothing lines with the peace symbol in it and it has been popular with youth for ages. Not because of it's message, but because they think it's a nice symbol.

Kapt Z 07-11-09 12:24 PM

A symbol of peace gets 3 PAGES of posts?!?!

I'm impressed!:yeah:

Torplexed 07-11-09 12:34 PM

I think it's her subtle and abstract expression of support for strategic bombing.
