I've been using this mod along with Your hsGUI v3.0 and they are both great :up: I especially like the way You're dealing with periscopes (e.g. light transmission reduction in AP is great idea).

Yet, the time has come to try faboulus OLCG2 ;) unfortunately JSGME reports an error when trying to enable W&E Combi on top of OLCG2 option 4. I can't remember right now which file is conflicting (I think that there's only one).. maybe it was scene.dat or sth like this.

Is it possible to make W&E Combi and OLCG2 compatible ?

Thanks for the kind words. But I have to know WHAT file exactly makes the conflict in order to answer.

Ah, okay, then I guess it conflicts with the EnhancedDamageEffects-Part of OLCGold. Sorry, but I fear that I cannot make then compatible, because I have no experience with materials.dat.

as I understand this we should delete materials.dat from \library folder of W&E Combi and put there this WaterStream_material.dat, this way W&E Combi should become compatible with all mods that use materials.dat right ?

curious why the latest waterstream mod by rubini still uses materials.dat though :hmmm:

it needs a test :D

can this be tested in single missions only with different uboats ? starting campaign with every uboat would be pain for me because of rather slow PC ;)

I'm astonished. It really worked: I renamed materials.dat of the Combi-Mod to Waterstream_Materials.dat, enabled the mod together with OLCG+EDE. No file conflicts in JSGME and Waterstream & Exhaust Effects are still visible. Thanx rs77

This change will be contained in the next Update of the Combimod.

:DL I just quit SH3 to write a post.. my loading times are killing me, I was only able to check VIIB or C (not sure which boat is in Naval Academy) but waterstream and exhaust works :up: I'm not sure if it's ok with IIA - I haven't seen smoke in sinlge mission I started with it but it was a bit dark ;)

h.sie are you sure that this file should just be renamed ? I deleted the original materials.dat from W&E Combi and replaced it with WaterStream_material.dat from the link provided by Rubini

WaterStream_material.dat is very small file which contains only waterstream particle as Rubini wrote (so it doesn't mess up with contents of materials.dat from OLCG2, well I guess), he also pointed out that original material.dat should be NOT used


this is really beatiful :D

EDIT: I just tried IIA, it works for canoe too, it's harder to take the picture but both waterstream and smoke are present

:up: I just did a little research because I really wanted to have W&E Combi with OLCG2, it's all Your work and the other guys who created those mods, and especially Rubini who knew how this should be done :salute:

unfortunately some great mods and ideas are getting lost in time..

now we only need the fix for IID and this mod will be a real gem :yeah:
