Wow... that is just disgusting. Hope they find whoever did this. I'll be uber p*ssed if it happens to mine (which it won't since they're safe :)).

My guess is that it is most likely some weird Asian medicinal thing and someone is selling it, or some satanic cult. Watch out for your dogs too if you live near China town in some cities.

If it is a crazy person, on one hand it is just a cat, but on the flip side if its some weirdo flipped out crazed single person doing this, then maybe this will progress into hurting actual people. He should be caught and then helped if at all possible.

I know nothing of any sort of traditions which involve cat hearts. Where the hell did you get that idea?

Geez! Where have you been? Everyone knows that cat hearts eaten raw with a little habenero is the new Viagra....:woot:

SUBMAN1 05-24-09 01:27 AM

No kidding. Watched one of those travelling food shows recently and you can buy just about anything over there. You are probably right when you say that they think its some new viagra. Every single piece of cat or dog can be bought in those markets, and thats just the start.

Are you being serious when you say that since you haven't heard of it, it doesn't exist? Sounds like a serious case of ostrich-itist to me. Not sure a doctor can cure that with you though - an impossible task! :D

Being Asian myself, I thought that statement was rather odd. I doubt this is for some sort of "harvest", seeing how there are much easier and less conspicious ways to do so. Namely, not leaving them out in the sidewalk or kidnapping them from owners who would know they were missing. Besides, if there is a group of people who believe that cat hearts provide some sort of benefit, there will be one that would hold it's testes in an equal light. Why only hearts? Obviously not for business.

This is some nut, or some retards who need to assure themselves of their superiority over.... small felines. A harvester would have "adopted" a pet from a shelter, which sadly does occur.

Man those markets in Bangkok to Vietnam to Cambodia, they will chop one part off an animal and discard the rest. Its pretty disgusting.

True subman - some markets will. Others wont.

Some places here take aborted fetus's and harvest them for stem cells.... Thats pretty disgusting too.

Each culture has their own bits of "weirdness", but given the description of what is happening - especially the cats being placed for "display" by the sound of it - they have a whack job on their hands, not a Asian cook.

Frame57 05-24-09 12:49 PM

UGH! That Andrew Zimmer would eat a plate of crap if it was put in front of him. Man Vs. Food, now that is a good show.:woot:

If the cats are on display, as in meant to be found, then we might have the makings of a serial killer on our hands. I can possibly understand a motive of removing an annoying cat that wakes one up in the middle of the night constantly, but not one where.

I still think it might be some sort of cult too. Many cults in the past have sacrificed animal hearts to their gods or demons. The display of the cat would also fall in line with this.

I saw a Stephen King movie and forget the title at the moment, but in it some one would kill cats and impale then on the iron fence of the graveyard. Very creepy image, but I guess it is possible for some wierd occult pratice to venture into such strange behavior.
