Sky, arbitration please.

My knight was on F3, see post #19

I don't want to be a pain, but I really recommend to stick with the international standards for transmitting moves in
correspondence chess, guys. That is
- to use full notation that mark figure (except pawns), orginal and target square (or use international four-digit field codes)
- to keep track of your match by always numbering your moves,
- to repeat the last move(s) of your opponent before giving your own reply.

This is no pedantic thing, but to prevent against mishaps, misreadings, and to save you from posting a reply that you have calculated while having read the last move of your opponent wrong. If you write his move before your reply, you may note your mistake BEFORE you post your move.

You agreed to take back moves, which is okay. but standard is not to allow that. However, if both players agree to that before a match, it's fine. We do not play a serious tournament here.

What is that last graphic? Mein deutsche ist nicht gut.

UnderseaLcpl 09-03-08 03:24 PM

I don't see how c6 is a check position for your knight when my king is at e8

fatty 09-03-08 03:26 PM

The move opened up my queen

It is a sample for a multi-lingual postcard used for correspondence chess, used in international matches.

Actually sky isn't far off. I am an engineer. The kind that drives trains, not the smart ones. I do get a fair amount of sleeping and reading done at work while our train is stuck in the siding or we're waiting for a signal.

Good news though, I finally got Arena w/o engines working properly, so I no longer have to try to play both matches on one chessboard. That should help a bit.
I've spent about half the match operating under the impression that some of your pieces were in different places. Hence the pointless sacrifice of both my bishop and knight.

It doesn't look good right now, but I think I can maybe pull this off. If not, there's always the rematch;)
