I think it's a little too late for that! Besides, this is awesome stuff

I think you two guys, Kpt. Lehmann and Ducimus are very talented Mod-Makers and I was hoping that one day you'd combine your talents and help improve subsims for everyone. I guess independent competiton would be another way to achieve this though.

Just know that this community reveres you both and we can't afford to lose either of you.

LOL... Did I just start the most heated thread on SubSim or what?

I would like to say Ducimus, you write with a lot of conviction and balls, and are always entertaining to read. Thank's for backing my original post, though that seems to have firmly taken a back seat now.

The Generals right and I hope the thread won't be closed as censorship of people's thoughts is never a good thing. I would say 'I hope you two can work this out' but it's obviously far past that stage and the roots are deep.

McBeck 04-17-08 05:29 AM

Sorry guys but this is not the Ricky Lake show or whatever is being showed today as public internal fights.....(Damn I'm old)

I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread - If this starts again, I'm gonna land on it as hard as a Sumo wrestler ;)

Heh...compared to other debates I've seen in other forums pertaining to other games, this one was just kindergarten stuff :rotfl: I'm not complaining though, I was getting sick and tired of that, to the point I stopped enjoying and, finally, playing the game involved. This place is, to use a phrase by Douglas Adams, "mostly harmless", and that's why I like it so much. Now, if a fight breaks out every now and then, we're only human. At least you don't get to hear cheers of "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" in the background, by the very forum owner (yes, I've seen that happen too in one of the forums I was referring to) :p

Danish sumo-wrestling. Now that would be a sight for sore eyes! :rotfl:

As far as a different thread for the uboats only, this has been discussed and the decision to leave them melded together was made. Welcome to the big happy family of submersible lovers. Modders always create README's and post with [REL] uboat or fleet boat
From AVG ^^^^ earlier in this thread folks :D The idea of a separate Mod Forum for the U-Boats has been discussed and a decision has been made. At the end of the day if folks label their thread's properly, things should be ok here.

If it is a thread that has absolutely no interest for you, don't read it, move on and enjoy the rest of your day :yep:

I think it's a great idea! Not because SH3 and SH4 fans are so different, because we're not. We all like subs, period. I think it's a good idea because SH4 in itself has nothing to do with U-boat's, as it's the American side, and vice versa.

Now. Uboat mods will mix in with the normal discussion in the U-boat forum or mix in with the 'American' SH4 mods. That can be quite confusing, think a year from now, when the Atlantic theatre mods may be in full swing?

It doesn't have to be a seperate one like we have now for SH3 or SH4 mods, may I suggest something like this:

As an example: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/

Especially the subforums under Ingame strategies and Community Modding... I find this a very good way to arrange smaller subforums.

By the way, if I read right, the original post was rather about separate 1.4 and 1.5 mods forum, which is very different than separating u-boat from fleet boats mods :hmm:

It looks to me the OP is looking to have fleets and uboats separate. Again, it has been discussed with Neal and the forums for SH4 modding will remain as one. As far as members having to sift through for each theater attempting to find mods, sorry to hear that. Moderators are to moderater, not make nice neat collections of mods for each theater and presented you in a Power Point form for your ease in finding mods. We attempt to keep up with it all and create such threads but the mods get churned out faster than we can keep up. Furthermore, if we were to attempt to keep up with it all it is darn near impossible when we have to stop and address threads such as this. I posted this a few threads back and RDP quoted again for all to read, "Welcome to the big happy submersible fan club fondly known as Subsim". So, until Neal sees that it might be necessary to have two mod forums for SH4, it will remain as it is. Also, there is no reason that a modder could post in the UBM forum of his/her new mod with a link to the SH4 mod forum where the interested party can locate the download link(same with the fleet boats). Sounds like a pain in the 'A' but most things in life are a pain in the 'A'.

Now everyone play nice or milk and Nilla Wafer time will be cancelled:nope:

Time to remember it's just a game & a cool hobby :|\\

Now, can I have the milk and wafers back ? please ? :p

Yes, your milk and wafers are by the TV. The mod wars and flame wars are getting very tiresome. The pokes here and there between some members continues to persist. The old wound is opened and salt poured. To top it off, the salt is rubbed in for effect. What needs to stop is idea that "my mod is better then your mod" and that some members refuse to see the vast aray of modders we have here but persist to shop the mod forums with blinders on. I have been suspect of the blinders issue as well so people in glass house need not throw stones. As far as having two separate forums to help prevent the bickering ( and that is all it is) does not work as evident when SH3 was separate with SH4. There are many commando raids between each forum and both forums are guilty of the commando raids. Nothing like dropping a dime and then running back to each respective forum. It is all senseless waste of time and energy, not only for the moderators, but also the other members who have to sift through the dribble to get what they are looking for.

Sorry, didn't see this until now. We already have a forum for SH4 mods, there's plenty of room for SH4 & SH4 U-boat mods. One thing we have to guard against is overpopulating the board with more and more forums. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
