100% realistic ??

:hmm:

Yes thats the one thing i have to disable cause the crew does not change itself. So when i am away from my computer i will lose hours when they go to rest. I just "pretend" that they are tired and change them after i get back to my computer.

Be sure it was not a critic.
;)
But are you sure that is necessary ?
Are you going away so long time ?
Crew must not be so tired after 8 or 10 hours if they are 100% ok at the beginning of their work or i make a mistake ?

Anyway your job still a great job.
Good hunting Herr kaleun.

Its a game and not the reality, reality was much more different, so playing with 1x makes just no sence for me.....

07.00 September 6 1939 U-48 Past 24 hours has been total boredom. I got tons of contacts (cause i am in English canal with lots of harbours) But i did not have any time to conduct attacks. I am half way trough the canal. 90% of the time i am in Pdepth with silent running. I only surface to reload battery and air. I only ride on surface when i am at home. So i can act quickly at any contact. I have made about 8 contacts so far. Most of them was warships. To be honest i dont have guts and experience to attack warships. In my first patrol i am just looking lone merchants ships so i could take them down with my deck gun. Yes i know. A cowardly way. But if you have invested more than 60 hours to that patrol you just dont want to waste yourself and your crew by being a hero.Yesterday just before i went to sleep i putted on earplugs and listened wonderful GWX grammophone music. What a fantastic night it was. Being underwater listening underwater ambient sound. A motor silently running and the music. I really felt that i am in submarine.

I think that today will be just the same day as usual. I dont think that i will see any action. If i see a lone merchant while i am near my computer then i will conduct an attack. The worst thing is that when i am returning from my patrol i have to pass that shallow water canal again. I cannot afford to go any other way because i dont have enough diesel. So i guess that riding back will be again at Pdepth and silent running. Ok now its time to get to work. I wish my men well while i am away.

U-48 Out

I've done a couple of 1X patrols. Love 'em. They are without a doubt my most memorable patrols.

Hey Haveyou ever thought about plugging your laptop to a home theater????
and turn volume to maximum when being depthcharged in GWX?:arrgh!:
ok im just kidding, i like the idea, it is similar to what i propose in my topic "online campaign"... But be careful so as not to damage your laptop:up:

I love reading about other peoples 1x patrols!

Like any sub-sim veteran I have done a few 1x patrols in my time!

Did the Gibraltar strait in 43' once in 1x and it was the most nerve-whackin' and tiering mission ever!
And it being with the earlier GWX didn't help matters! ;)

When I made ti (and it was a close call; my Boot was all banged up) I felt like dropping dead in my bed and after i had a good cry!:yep:

So here comes my 1000th post Cheers to all of ya mates!:rotfl:

Yesterday I left Willhelmshaven in x1 without automatic way.
I must say that was great and very fun to naviguate in real time, giving my own orders to make the way in the haven.

But when I had finished eating I did not have the patience to continue the 800 miles separating me of the square of mission ...

One day perhaps...

Today we received no report from U-48 Herr Dönitz, although we expected one. Will they ever report again? :-?

Even trying to get the experience being in U-boat during WW2 using this simulation is still different from real life. This simulation is more limiting and too bored for me to experience no TC. If in real life, I cannot leave U-boat & crew by hop in a raft and sail away to do my errands or pleasures, cannot be interrupted by personal life, jobs, or outside contacts of relatives, friends, etc, and I would have access to any sections of boat, not limited to only radio, command, bridge, and conning tower. Also the crews from real life are much more alive than the ones in game. Would be nice if future mods will add a feature that allows us manging crew's clothes and appearances to our preference using locker room or bunk quarter during game, maybe play pokers with crew in stern or bow quarters, able to access in engine room and see/hear how engine is pumping, and even maybe I can help crew loading torpedoes in torpedo quarter to finish the job quicker, and run drills. Then run on no TC would be worth it if there are much more life to add to the game. I tried no TC for one day, I got motion sickness even I didn't usually get it when I was at real sea, so it must be simulation sickness.

For those who were waiting U-48 reports. I am sorry to inform but U-48 was sunk. I dont know how. I was away at work and my boat was on pdepth with silent running. I guess he stumble on random warboat and got depth charged.

I thought maybe to reload previous save point. But that would be cheating. I guess i will start new career soon. But not just now. Although i travelled about 1500 km i feel very tired. I m just sorry that i never reached my patrol area. Dangerous place this english channel is :(
