Another 2.0 Crash!!!!
This time I was in the middle of a DC attack. I had received damage and had selected the damage report screen to see how bad I had been hit. The game then crashed and went to an report error window.
I don't ever recall having the game crash, for me, during a DC attack in the pre 2.0 days!!!! Anyone else having this problem? |

Skins in the overide folder called tex don't cause a game crash as far as I know. Even if the skin tga files is worded wrong it won't load into the game. SH3 will use its default skin in its DAT files. Guys unless a modder states that a mod is GWX 2.0 compatible or working, a mod might work but there are risk. For my skins you can use the default VIIB VIIC skins. Oh wait a minute.:hmm: I just shot myself in the foot.... XXI use dat files. :damn: Rascal I'm going to release a XXI for GWX 2.0 soon. I will have to import tga file to it. I didn't think of that before dangit sorry.:nope: So my XXI skin might cause you crash too. |
several ctd, always with crew management (buttons)

Yep, you will get a CTD when using the Crew Management buttons. It's an original bug that was never fixed by the Ubisoft Devs. The way to avoid it is to manually move your crew around the stations. Enjoy GWX. |
Just to confirm what mr chris stated about multiplayer....We guys who play a lot of online stats at WPL find that you must ALL have the same install....Lets say theres 3-4 players who all have GWX 2.0 Now if someone as enabled a mod and others have not, chance is that player will crash....We find its best to have NO mods enabled at all.....Also the " bouncing DD syndrome " was mentioned....Again from testing GWX Multiplayer the host cannot and does see a bouncing DD....However after meeting up after the game we find that someone has forgotten to disable a mod, or that person has more than one install....ie stock install and gwx install. ( a guy at wpl once wrote that having two installs ie stock and gwx the gwx tries to set to the default install )
However most multiplayer games run ok with no trouble when players only have ONE install and no mods enabled....Hope this helps. |
Hello Kaleuns,
the german MP-mission "Tankerverband TM1" made a CTD until loading. Iam working on a Bugfix for some German MP-Missions. If its ready i send it to BBW for testing it. Greets Maddy |
i found out there are WAY less german MP missions in GWX 2.0, it has been a reason why i crashed by some games since i used the german text/sound/settings
i fixed this by puting all english ones in the german folder  |
The easiest and IMHO commonsense way (as used by so many of the GWX Team who have been playing MP together-in some cases for 18 months)....Is to have two separate installs. One should be dedicated solely to MP and be the basic GWX installation with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ADDED.
As soon as someone is allowed to enable or add just one thing, you potentially open the MP game up to a critaical state which can only lead to a CTD. Normally, graphical changes such as sub skins are okay, but when I'm hosting a MP server I ask everyone to adhere to the cardinal 'no additions' rule which dramatically reduces the the chances of problems whilst hosting. :arrgh!: |
I have problems using the GWX VII/41 player sub! How do i use it exactly and what Boot Type do I need to choose in-game if i activate this mot via the mod-enabler?!:hmm:
