Played around with this quite a bit. I can get the menu bar mod to work, but still get the "menu id not found "error when trying to use betterscopes 1.5.1. The game tries to load then locks up. Are you using it with a clean install patched to 1.4?

its clean install i suspect somthings missing your end maybe jsgme threw a fit ect .
somtimes you get a ctd and when you restart its left half your loaded mods in the sh4 folder. has happened to me several times, otherwise all i can say is try one of the diffrent res versions and see if it does it with that, plus if your using trigger maru, the menu maybe diffrent. ive not looked into it i usually merge trigger rfb rsrd and just knock out the crash causers or change the menus so they work. but this mod was made using default 1.4 menu_1024.ini and menu plus orders config, all were default. and was tested on my clean install, i have one i use as backup. one i play. i can send you my menu but i cant see that helping??

De@dMe@t, Please send me your menu. At least I can put them up side by side and compare. I know that will be tedious, but I really want to have Better Scopes back.

I've loaded the 1440rezMin version and here's something strange: The button that says "deploy gramaphone" looks like a small map, and when I click it nothing happens. Where's the gramaphone?

Well I tried this but it doesn't seem to be working for me. The better periscopes seem ok and some of the buttons are there, but i can't seem to get the drop down map to work.

I've tried to compare my buttons screens with the screen shots, but the screen shots are to small for me to make out what buttons are what.

Is this compatible with TM 1.7.5, RSRD and ROW? Those are the mods I'm using.

I tried using the drop down map mod by itself but it crashes the game on startup.

the map may be throwing a fit because of your screen size, did you download the appropriate files for your resolution, plus trigger 1.75 wasnt out when i did this so i really have no idea what effects it will have on that because im not 100% sure of what menu changes have been made since 1.72, as with rsrd v2.0 which also wasnt out. ill take a look at the 2 and try running my menu and hud with it over the weekend, & if there are any problems hopefully sort them.

OK, thanks. I'll wait for your results. As for the screen size, I was using my default 1600x1200. So it should have shown all of the buttons, correct? If so I think something probably got overwrote and may have screwed it up, what I don't know.

anyone know if there is a better scopes compatible with 1.5? that was a must have for me and I am missing it. Is it possible to manually put it into the menuini file? there was a great one I used to use which had scuff marks on it...looked photo realistic.

But does this work also with the greman u boat?? I see screens of us submarine only. I need a "german side" version of this mod. Has this been made or not?

two versions of 'worn' better scopes for v15 uses different overlays for US and German attack scopes. it also incorporates Nomograph.

US boat uses US scopes and standard nomograph. Uboats use german attack scope, but shares the US observation scope overlay while using a Metric Nomograph.
