The seriousness is what makes DW fun compared to the kiddie sims.
And there's no need to knock the CSS project. SCS isn't very busy lately. No other company has picked things up. We could make DW better, but we're at the point where 90% of what we can do to make it better isn't allowed. Well, if they won't let us make it better, then it makes sense for someone with the skills to make a new one of his own. The F4 community is pretty nice if you get a subset of it. There are a lot of good people at Frugals, but also a lot of *******s. People on this forum are far more civil to each other. |
Me
Just for the record I am a female and play DW. Normally about once a week.
Also to head off any smartarsed comments, I'm not some social outcast or masculine in nature. My Deviantart link is http://mercedes-25.deviantart.com/ |
All hail the woman !

I sometimes get annoyed when there is a woman in a gamers forum and a lot of guys start buttkissing her.

@Mille sabords we have at least one girl playing DW (Aerojoresse) , she is Offcier in Atlantique 2 aircraft in the 21 Flotilla (anti submarine warefare squadron) at Nimes Garron airbase (in south of france). she is very nice girl with 2 childs and she play only the P3 sharing it with one the webmaster of MS and they are terrific in sub hunt.

Yup, another female here too!
If you'd care to check I've been playing DW, SC, SH3 + SH4, Age of Pirates, Sea Dogs and Pirates of the Caribbean for years now and posting on this forum for a while too! Just not too recently as I've been working on my Master's dissertation...yuck! Mind you, I'm a huge geek and a computer programmer so I guess that explains alot. Don't count women out of these games. For me, at least, it's not the 'war' or killing, so much as the thinking and planning and tactics...kinda like chess. Any game (whatever genre) where I can feel immersed and as if I have complete freedom to come up with whatever hair-brained plan I choose is my kinda game. Anyway, back to the typing... Elphaba |
