Thanks for all the votes and replies. I should have been little more specific as to what counts as a career completed. I say a career is when you die or finish the game with at least 10 patrols.

I made it to September 1943 once. Usually it's around June of 42 when I buy it. Don't want to think about what '44 will be like when GWX 1.04 hits. Gonna be bad boys.

ZERO :shifty:

So what happens if you actually survive until 1940? Does the war end?I've heard rumors that it lasts until 1945, but I think that is a myth.

I still didn't vote. I've never finished a career by either of those criteria.

How many other games do you continue to play, when you find it almost impossible to complete them:hmm:
I have three (3) complete careers, since the game was released.
One from Sep -39 to the end, started in stock and ended in "my modded" version.
One from Jan -45 to the end in The Grey Wolves 1.1. Green crew, really tough:rock:

And one from Oct -42 to the end in GWX 1.03. 30´th Flotilla in the Black Sea and from Aug -44 the 33´rd Flotilla in Flensburg. That last 1/2 year was so hard, almost impossible to reach the Atlantic. It never took more then 20min on surface before the Rwr started ringing, without it I would not have had a chance:rock:

Played lots of careers - all ending with me dead. Many of them after less than 12 patrols.

Just got home by the skin of my teeth on the 18th patrol, mind you on my previous patrol I arrived home at base with 12% integrity!

Longest I've made it a career is 17 missions ending in May of 44. Snorkel helps a lot ;). Play GWX and hardcore--if I get offed, I don't reload the mission. But usually, I get killed by 43.

I've found the Type VII to improve my odds a lot. The IX is fun but much harder to evade with.

Careers "completed" by getting killed during war: 18

Careers really completed (war ends and I'm still alive): 0 (in words zero, nada, nothing, nicht eine einzige) :-?

But my current career is at Jan. 1944, so I'm still hoping to get this one finished this time...

Happy hunting!:arrgh!:

I am on my way back to Lorient completing my 13th patrol with no torp left and hull damaged to 70% no more Flak guns! Carrer started in 01 August 1940 today 28th June 1942;;; 98o kms from Lorient!

Happy hunting to all !

It's so easy to complete a career. Just use SHIII Commander to set the days in between patrols to 999
