Like is said on the first page, if its true it is some serious news after they were saying 1.3 was last, but right now the game is stable and i can live with that, as long as the mods keep coming that is.

Its going to be a wait and see type of thing for a while yet.

It really is a mystery to me this rivalry between the two forums. We both want the same things, we all share a common interest and it is in everyone's best interest that we keep the hobby alive and thriving.

Personally I welcome anyone who is interested in Subsims, new or old, newbie or vet. If someone has something positive to offer, if they can do it in a respectful manner then they are a honoured guest in this house.

On the other hand if people want to start or carry over vendettas from anywhere else against anyone else, then their stay here will be short and unpleasant.

Simple.

Pardon my ignorance but did we need a 1.4 patch? I wasn't aware there were any huge problems that granted a torch & pitchfork (tm) type of emergency patch. Sure there's a lot of missing features but most are generally outside patch scope.

No mystery John, it's just human nature... :damn: Forums are a representative microcosm of that behavior which, on a larger scale, can precipitate wars...

Now Aaron can add point 10 to his post:

10. Philosophical implications of software patches and their effect on basic human instincts and nature...

I was thinking I really needed to have an even 10 too, thanks!

Your welcome... You'd never catch Letterman or Leno doing less than 10...

I agree. Just wait until the patch is released and all these little pet wishes and wants didn't get included. Oh you're in for some wailing and gnashing of teeth, I tell you bubba...

In this thread I seem to have stumbled upon:

1) announcement of maybe a patch
2) forum war
3) apparently the authoritative 1.4 patch features request thread (darn I guess I missed out)
4) a number of strange characters with issues
5) a call to arms that reads like a gas station embargo chain letter (and probably had about the same economic impact)
6) jilted and/or banned users
7) locked threads
8) clandestine Ubisoft customer support case files (I knew they were watching us :shifty: )
9) the official spokesperson of some French guy

That is just beautiful....I got a good chuckle from this post.

I agree here. If there is a patch then in all reality it is bonus material.

It was read very carefully and I'd close it again in a heartbeat.

Sir, I posted the unedited words of Krazyfrenchman as a favor. They are not my words. To paraphrase the broadcast media " The opinions expressed do not necessarily represent the policy or opinions of the poster."

My hope is that they will fix the only major bug that still exists. That is the International Dateline bug, in which torpedos are missing from the attack map if you start your patrol in Pearl Harbor and cross the IDL. TTM fixes this by starting you out a hundred miles West of the IDL. It works, but I would like to start at the dock. They fix that one in 1.4 and I will consider the game a finished product.

Did I miss something?

Did the French-dude get banned?

Man, you guys are harsh!

I gotta get me a spokesperson.

E... B... Zippit... zip... zipp... just have your people talk to my people.

Here's my bag with all of this:

There was enough hint dropping over the past two months that a patch was forthcoming. Now KFM comes along and asks people to start calling over and over demanding a patch to be made. Perhaps that is why they call him KFM. I'm not sure. So yesterday KFM makes one phone call and shazam, he gets the answer he is looking for. An answer that was here all along. Moving along...do we start pestering the hell out of the developers with demands of this and that as it was with 1.3? No, we leave them alone like they were the last two months to look at the forums for trouble spots in the game, area of improvement that are coming from the end users. Lets put this puppy to bed and let the developers do what they need to do in peace.

I shut up now.
