But you leave the green ( and red lights here ) alone. That red button sure seems obvious for a fire button.

In the control room you press the T key and highlight your torps to fire useing the W key. Say it's like this pic and #1 just fired, press the big red button again for #2,#3 etc.,or from whatever highlighted # tube ( T key ) you started from, top to bottom of bow tubes to top to bottom of stern tubes. Whew, working up a sweat here. :rotfl:

This is why it would be so nice to have switches to open torp doors like SH3 had. Work every thing from here.

Quite the opposite, really. In Silent Hunter I, which I still play and did play especially before SHIV came out, and which was also set in US Subs, you fired the torps by pressing the different buttons for each tube. While they were red instead of green, it's quite a different concept to selecting the tube and then fire the torps via a universal seperate fire button.
Anyway, it wasn't really a problem at least for me - the "learning process" I described above took me maybe <5 seconds.;) It was more a trial and error thingy, and I'm not the one to shout "BUG!" and leave the game the moment something doesn't work as expected*. I always give them the benefit of the doubt first and asume error on my part. ;)

*not saying anyone in this thread here is

Of course, part of the confusion might come from the fact that in 1.1 clicking on the torpedo tube would cause it to fire, this was removed in 1.2.

It was never an issue for me since I usually manage the sub as much as possible from the keyboard rather than clicking on the screen, so I always use ENTER to fire a torp.

I don't know if this has resolved SingleDebile's original issue.

Also Enter was removed in 1.2 to Ctrl + Enter, are you saying that you remapped it back to just Enter?

Before 1.2 I used to hit the "Enter" key accidentally on the numlock pad reaching for + key for TC and whoosh I would loose a torp. Remapped it then to "Ctrl + Delete" before 1.2 came out. Very frustrating to loose a torp in the open waters. :damn:
I always use the big red button, lot more easier. Well as least for me it is. :)
