A Subsim MMORPG would work if it was done right actually.

Each Kaleun has their crew, communicate via BDU, meet up with other Kaleun's in axis ports..share information on patrol. The biggest problem would be managing processing of all the information on current AI shipping location and movement.

The best way to keep one's sanity is to go nuts over something

Actually, I've never felt the least bit claustrophobic in any sub or ship I've been in. Dunno why, either, as I can get more than a touch so in very closed spaces on land. Maybe something about the motion of the boat on the water or something? ?Or just that metal seems less confining to me than wood and concrete? No idea. No claustrophobia on subs, though.

Can't speak for sub games, but I'm still addicted to planetside and suffering withdrawl symptoms ( See this post and random mention of planetside for evidence). Every so often I swear to god I hear the little count down timer the game uses for the transport, or the little sounds for implants etc.

H.E.L.P M.E.

Used to play PS quite a bit, myself. Before it started sucking, anyway. Was on Emerald, then Konried (when they merged) as TR.

It's ONE of the reasons I think an MMO-subsim would be fun. An MMO can still be compelling without the level "grinding" of tradditional MMORPGs that everyone thinks of when the topic comes up (*cough*WoW).

Its alright still, if you left because of BFRs they are so easy to kill its rediculous :) Played with ULTRA when I was a zergling and KOTOR/Overlords a bit later.

MMO? psh 32-64 (LOL imagine a 64 sub wolf pack :D) subs would be plenty. You wouldnt need a MMO but rather a decent multiplayer :P Have a few dedicated servers and volia. Would probably have to work like guild wars with instances due to time compression issues. That would be cool though, enable the player to vist various places in ports (nightclub anyone?) and interact with other players before missions and then the actual missions would be player groups of maybe 10-15 who would have patrol areas that would be fairly close and could act as a wolf pack.

When the ambulance would come to a halt on a scene... I sometimes used to yell, "Alle maschinen stop!!!"

My partner thought I was barking mad.

I kept my mouth shut whenever we had to (re)load a new oxygen cylinder.:|\\

I live next to a harbor that has a carrier, the USS Yorktown, and that's all I can think of when looking at her... ahhh the tonnage!
I camped out on it when I was in Boyscouts and there are a bunch of stray cats in there, I guess to keep the rat population down. So I'd only be sinking the new top secret weapon rat killer.

Could be, but I think she's using her stern tube in another way to get renown.
