This thread is for people to discuss and point to their favorite firearms and/or just be silly. It is not authorized for political discussion. This: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=109983 is the thread for political discussion of firearms and the gun lobby. It will re-open in 10 and 1/2 hours from the time of this post. Please question America's sanity in that thread, but do so respectfully.

Also, remember that this is an internet forum, specifically one dedicated to submarines and submarine simulations. The world will not be changed here, and we need no pretences in that regard.

Thank you,
The Management

Seriously: Is the US a nation of whackos?

Mate, about half the people posting on the thread are non-American, like myself and well, look at the other posters locations yourself. :shifty:

How many people die in Iraq, Columbia (remember that?) Congo, or Southeast Asis each month by guns???

Agreed. This thread is in no way related to current events. If people continued on that thought line, pretty much every subject dicussed would be barred because of some vague relation to an incident.

Dont get me wrong, VT was a tragedy, but relating it to every discussion about firearms isnt the way to go on.

42 ammunition is too cumbersome. You get cylinders with a 34 :P

Well, the 34' could run on belts and the 42' could run on cylinders.
The 34' was unreliable, slow firing, expensive to produce and no where near as versatile as the '42 which was used for everything you can think of and continues to be used today!

Common guys! Does anyone have a good MG3 about? :D

Fair. But why had this topic to be started two days after the VT incident?

I have said what I had to say. So you can go on now about which ammo is best for killing what.

What would have been bad timing for just now would have been a thread extolling the virtues of homicidal madmen. It ain't the guns fault.

 :o

Well ... I prefer big, loud, heavy, personal, weapons that requires a man to fire...and a second man to tote the ammo for him.

OOOHH! YEAH BABY! when the trigger is squeezed the ground shakes... it causes fear in the enemy... people loose control of their bowels (well the enemy people that is)

Ain't nothin better than killing the enemy before they kill you...and scaring the crap out of 'em...

I just hope when waste gate is prez. he lets me rampage with what I need

Have no fear... if you are not an enemy of America yooou will be safe.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :hmm: :yep: :smug: :shifty:  :rotfl:

Did the '42 have a single shot ability?

No, why would you need it?
The first shot allways follows true, however many follow it.

Ammo conservation and minimisation of recoil :P What're the odds of hitting a zombie in the head with a burst? :rotfl:

"A gun is a tool, Marian. No better, no worse than any other tool. An axe, a shovel, or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that." Shane, played by Alan Ladd, in the movie Shane (1953).
