Thank You Very Much for doing this skin!!!! My father will be thrilled when I show it to him this evening. His name is Dean Adams and he was one of the two crew members who did this paint job on the Redfin. He also served aboard her for all 7 war patrols and is a proud plank-owner.
Needless to say--when I saw this mod it moved me very much. In the near future you will be hearing some of his wartime experiences through another member of this site. We/I had intended for it to be done already but my life got crazy and family health issues have been foremost for me. My father is one of very few plankowners of the Redfin to still be alive. With this mod, know you will have made an aging Subvet a very happy man! And now for a side joke: If you use this skin be very carefull (ie don't get sunk) or I might never have been born! :hmm: Thank You Just Isn't Enough!!!! Finback |
Man...I am soooo humbled :oops: I really hope your father wont mind us doing this. I tried my best and as you might have seen the bow planes are not 100% due to the game code.
I know some veterans here in Germany. One of my colleagues at work has a father in law, Carl, he served at Mote Casino as a 18 year old "kid" I never get tired talking to him about hes experiences. There are some stories I tell you. Carl is almost addicted to vent this stuff out, must have been a "for life" experience going through that. All the best to you and your Father. I would be so proud having a Father like that....I tell you! |

Now I may not be a very ritualistic SH4 player, but I have definetly spent my fair share of time dodging depth charges. Things down here at Ft. Campbell keep me a bit drier than I'd like sometimes (or maybe it's the other way around...) and I haven't spent much time in the depths as of late, but I did have to jump in and reply and give huge thanks to CaptainCox.
My father informed me of the re-creation of the Redfin and I had to come check it out. Yes I am proud to say I am part of the Adams lineage and can't say enough how proud I am to be Dean Adams' grandson. I am honored that you took the time to re-create a part of history that my grandfather was in and that most people probably wouldn't have known about otherwise. So thank you again Captain, you've done well. |
