mine is coming...
Hi all, I thought I'd register and say hi. Big SH3 player that took a break waiting for SH4. This is probably not news to some, but I got an email at 9:55 PST on Monday saying it's shipped. Tracking number shows it is on the move from Indiana (bound for CA) now.
10:30 AM - Package data transmitted to FedEx 4:03 PM - Picked up The game COULD have spent that 6 hours in a truck but FedEx waiting all day to go pick it up from the manufacturer. Jerks. :) I kid I kid If anyone is wondering how I got it so early (if that is at all the case) I pre-ordered it on Ubi.com over a month ago. EDIT: I see I should have checked the other threads first :) |
SH4
It's too bad that this game is not so different from SH3. That is to say no dedicated servers like Red Orchestra, BF2 and others. Yes the graphics are the best. But graphics alone don't make a good game.
Hosting from your own PC and bot ships again. Good graphics are great and I can max this game out with my studio CGI machines as far as it wants to go, but wouldn't it be nice to drive a DD and hunt down the sub? Have more players and a dedicated server software? Also wouldn't be nice to have players rather then Bots aboard your boat? 32 players and then a choice of surface or sub play. And lets face it that whole Hollywood experience they suggest can only be realized by a machine that can handle it. I get people telling me 7 out of 10 they can't play 2142 let alone this game. As most people have 2 year old machines they are dreaming if they think they will have that block buster movie experience. Ubsoft should underline that rather than have it in the small print. Still the images and animation are the best yet. A lot of eye candy but not much real action in the true sense of gaming. That is if you have the machine to show it. Again it comes down to the type of game play you like. And there will be plenty that like this type of sim. But I wonder. Am I the only that feels this way? And don't get me wrong I am a sub nut with a fleet of RC scale boats. Steve |
