Ubisoft promised the same for SHIII, now they must show whether their word can be used or not!

Ehm, read again - this answer IS about SHIII.

I'm ambivalent. What I would be happy about is that they go through on all the promises of a better-moddable SHIV though :hmm:

Ditto.

Here is a good one from today:

Quote:

Q: Godzero: When ships sink, will the crew jump ship. (Like into the water) and swim for it? (I would love to gun down helpless sailors trying to swim for it. Or rescue my own country's men.)
A: Whenever a ship sinks there will be some survivors that will run away from the wreck in life boats. They will leave the danger area and you will be able to save them. This is also available for the airplanes; whenever an airplane gets hit the crew will have a chance to jump with parachutes; after they hit the water you will be able to rescue them.
So:
- rescuing survivors - from both planes and ships is totally in
- But notice the dev. skirting the part about "I would love to gun down hepless sailors trying to swim for it"

Barkhorn.

A: Unfortunately, wolfpacking won't make it in the release version of the game. This is a feature that we're looking forward to implement in the future, though.

We may get wolfpacks after all :hmm:

Be nice, like how they are talking about the future:up:

Yea, it could be a Christian "second-coming" timeline the devs are referring to.

;)

He's probably just ignoring the fact that the person asking the question seems a little bad in the head. :dead:

In this case, the SH4 devs are part of the publisher's own in-house development studio. They're Ubisoft employees. Not that it changes the validity of your comment - just pointing it out.
Actually, I rather like the idea of publishers being the employees of developers. I mean lets be honest, if you have no devs then you'll have nothing to publish, so the salaries earnt by publishers depend very much on the quality of the developer's work. This also goes for share holder earnings.

Respect to the devs. Long live the revolution....etc.:arrgh!:

and the devs depend on the pre-financing of a game project by the publisher, because their families want also each day during the two years dev cycle a warm meal. (Developers can live only from coffee, but not their children:rotfl:)

What worries me is the questions they do not answer.

They carefully select answers that will promote the game and avoid or ignore any question that might show a lack in the game. AA and the number of modeled interior stations are 2 hot topics that they are rather pointedly ignoring. Reminds me of President Bush and his staff in many ways.

Ark 03-06-07 09:57 PM

Customer Service has never been Ubisoft's strong suit. lol

LukeFF 03-07-07 12:44 AM

They've already told us in that thread about engine rooms, etc., not being modeled.

As for the other part of your post, good grief, keep the politcs out of the discussion.
