I once chased a similar merchant- bastard kept changing course. I finally hit him... it didnt go down, after a new attack I hit him again... still afloat. I calculate solution for the third time... DUD :damn: I get in the position for the forth time- eel away, another hit but the bugger was still going 15knts (you know how hard it is to get in a nice position at this speed). Then I overtaked him and shot the stern eel- hit:roll: and after 5 shots he finaly stopped and went down. And all torps were nice impact steamers set for 4m under:doh:.

5 torpedos for a poor 6.000t or something like that. Its funny at first I resonably wanted to give up and go convoying but after the third hit and no boom the psyho kaleun took over the U-boat and we chased the moby dick and got the bastard:ping:

Did something like that in a monster storm.. lost all torpedos, no hit, and lost the ship due the storm.. was a fun moment.

The killer moment was just a few days ago. In the Med..

A huge taskforce, loads of DD's I stumbled on.. but orders are to take Frachters, so I dived and escaped.

Fate called for another contact with them, a day later..they changed course, and same exercise, but was close call due the TC.

Then, hours later another close call with them, and a DD headed to me, and I shot him.. and escaped a 3th time!

Just before I surfaced, contact, frachter kommt near, I sunk him, and quickly went away..

It was a scary day.. and besides all the hero stories on this forum, I do not want to engage big battleships with DD infested waters around them. A crew-caring Kaleun, let them go their merry way.
:arrgh!:
