Are you sure you don't have the 'Cubist' mod installed :p
|
It's cubism, man. Quite a popular in WWII times, you should be glad! "Naval Guernica" could be sold for quite a sum of money, I suppose. :D

One last thought. Did you use the DVI connection for digital display instead of VGA for analog to your monitor?
I'd return it for a new one if the above fails to help. It sounds like a GPU problem on the card. The extra cooling should have helped if it wasn't the GPU I'd think. Good luck. |
I dont want to start NEW topic for this, becose i have also some troubles with my graphic card:
I have 2 comps..1 is with ATI X1800X ( and on this 1 SHIII works)..now other is a little older (but still good) Athlon 2500+(barton core) and nVidia Ti4200/128MB and i need to make this one to work...So what is the problem?Well looks like i just cant get rid of the famous UZO problem with blocked view from 310 to 50 bearings.. :damn: Ctrl +p for disabling close particles doesnt work...I have 1.4b vanila patch on both systems and nVidia 93.71 forceware for XP whql version of drivers...(no mods installed but im planning to use GW) Is there any way i can bypass this particles issue?..Im downloading GWX atm..so will this solve problem?:hmm: Ah yes 1 more thing.. i used old (GW1.1) with ATI graphic and never found any glitch.. S.O.S S.O.S. Becose i need to install all this and make it work so i can give this machine to my brother as a gift so be quick please.Im on the edge to use wrench on this stupid graphic nVidia card and get some AGP Ati inside |
That 7600 card is running TOO hot.
Here is my Nvidia 7800 GS OC 256Meg AGP 8X cards temps. Am running two cooling fans in front of computer, one on left side, two at rear which are exaust ( not counting the power supply fan exaust ) Course the liquid cooled are the best. This is idle: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...007_160106.jpg And this is after a 2 hour bout with SHIII : http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...007_180436.jpg |
The saga continues
I swapped the card for another of the same make and this ne boots up to an idle temp of 63 deg C and the graphics start to go funny after about 10 mins of 3D play (any game that requires a bit of grunt and the temp is now about 80 deg. I've got two system fans and the ambient temp in the case sits at around 30 deg once everything is up and running. the CPU is nice and cool and peaks out at about 47 deg when I've got a heavy graphics load up. My old card a 4200 ti never gets above 40 deg but it had a whacking great heat sink and fan on it. I just think the XFX 7600 cooling unit is simply too small.:shifty: I'm going for another brand with better cooling on board cos I don't fancy getting into liquid cooling for this rig.
Ah wel back to the shop for a full refund and search for another card. |
Has anyone heard of Inno3D cards? What's their reputation? I've seen an Inno3D 7600GS 512Mb for AU$215 which is a bit cheaper than the XFX one I bought and have sent back to the mfgs.
I'm just interested if anyone else has heard of these guys and whether they are OK or not. |
If I may make a suggestion, try a XFX 6800 XTreme 256mb DDR3 256 bit card if you can find one. Tho it's an older model it is an excellent card. It might help you save a bit of cash for now that'll you'll need for the DX10 cards when you do a full upgrade later on.
Just checked the temp on my 6800XTreme. GPU core temp is 51c. Ambient temp is 31C. That's not playing any games, but just here on the net. |
I've decided to go with the Inno 3D 7600 GS, looking at the info I can get and speaking to someone who has been using one for a while it looks like a not bad buy. Pick it up Monday so I'll let you know how it goes.
EDIT: So picked up the Inno 3D 7600GS and a couple of case fans today and guess what. It runs at 49 deg C on start up and maxes aout at around 59 deg C when running hard with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory with all the bells and whistles running. I'm thinking its still too hot but when I frist cranekd it up the graphics where just beautiful and the frame rates were fine. I thought OK I'll run it for an hour or so to see what happens and hey presto after about an hours hard work knocking off bad guys the horrible graphics starts again and it looks like I'm back to square one. I'm starting to think that the problem has got to be the motherboard now and I guess I'll have to take this card back and start talking about the upgrade process to a new Core Duo with PCIE. I tried disconnecting the auxillary power cable that the card needs and just got an error message saying that the cable needed to be plugged in to support the card and no difference in running temp, so I plugged it back in. The only other thing I can think of is changing the AGP voltages in the BIOS which is the only option I get when I run my BIOS. Does anyone know what this is likely to do? |
