Is it a bug in the mission...? I will try to load mine up, and see if it crashes..

We have (or should I say, BBW has) determined that it is a bug in the SCR layer. The mission was copied directly from the SCR, the only difference being that the player u-boat is right in the middle of the battle. So to fix the bug, there needs to be a fix to the SCR, and not just the specific mission. That sound about right, Wooly?

Yes, I knew that the Operation Cerberus was on the campaign and that the mission is made that way. So you are right, the SCR layer needs to be fixed.

Goddie! PS: I also got the same error:
AppName: sh3.exe AppVer: 1.4.0.1 ModName: sh3sim.act
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000de74

I also got a CTD on another GWX-added single mission entitled Operation Tungsten I think it was. However, this time the CTD occured when loading for the mission had almost completed, and not while the mission was in progress. I also played Narvik, a STOCK single mission, and finished until the end without a CTD.

From what I can see so far, the stock single missions are fine, while the GWX-added ones are having a little trouble  . I need to play a few more to completely validate that statement though.

Edit: I played Bismarck, which I think is a GWX-added single mission. It played perfectly, so I revise my statement above: the only two missions with problems I have encountered are the Cerberus one and the Tungst one.

Well, just tested with and without the fix. Both times I get the same error as Seth and Webchessie. It happens about 15-20 seconds after the shooting starts. Game freezes, then crashes, and the error pops up.

Sorry I didn't get this done earlier, I had to run into work.

Its a character limit on the names for missions in SH3 isnt it? the 'us' is 'Cerberus' is missing :(

Well that's embarassing . I need to brush up on the technicalities. What ship was it that had the 16"-ers? Didn't the Bismarck have 'em? Also, I knew Cerber didn't sound right! I wasn't sure though.

No german ship ever mounted 16'' guns, altough the planned H-project battleships were supposed to mount 16'', and up... (last plan was for a 140,000 ton ship, twice the size of any battleship built before, with 8 x 20'' guns...)

Bismarck used the very good Krupps 14,96'' - or 38 cm. :D

That's the same message I got before I installed the fix. With the fix, it just CTD-ed right away, no message. I disabled the unsuccessful fix and there is no message anymore, just a simple CTD.

@Deamyont: 140,000 tons?! Holy $%#!

Just a reminder:

If you remove or add mods and fixes, you must be in port or you will get a CTD sometimes. If you have SH3 Commander, you always need to do a rollback first as well as being in port.

I know this thread is about the single mission, but just wanted to tell ya, just in case. :know:

Damn
Mine CTD as well
Was watching the action
2 DD sunk
The aircraft had just got shot down then booted back to desktop
:hmm: I have an idea

danlisa 12-20-06 12:32 PM

Help me out BBW, is this the mission where you can watch the LRG in action? I think in the english channel.

If it is, what's been changed as it worked fine in the Beta.

Yes thats the mission
Well I can find nothing on the campaign layers
Have asked Ref to look at the error message as he knows a thing or two that man

I must admit I am stumped on this one

danlisa 12-20-06 12:42 PM

Is the CTD always after the aircraft is shot down? What aircraft? Possible zon error????

I ask because we had CTD's way back when a zon file was nerf'd on a merchant. (not in GW or GWX);)

bigboywooly 12-20-06 12:50 PM

Not sure
The aircraft is a 109
Thats when mine CTD but from the other posts its different
I think

YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!

And I have never actually made it to the part with the aircraft... I cannot believe there is even more action! Also, I mentioned that I was getting a CTD during loading to another mission. I said it was the Operation Tungsten mission, but I was wrong; it is the Scharnhorst mission. I know only one problem should be dealt with at a time, but has anyone else gotten a Scharnhorst CTD during load-up?
