There is an optional 'Lite Harbor Traffic' mod that comes with GWX which can be enabled with JSGME that also comes with GWX.

You'll probably need to provide us with more info, but initially while still in the port area, your frame rates will always be much lower.

Dont know if this is a bug or what but i started a new carrer whit sh3cmdr, latest edition. Then in middle of patrol i did a save and logged out.

Then when i was rdy to play again i startd up the game whit the GWX shortcut that is on desktop ( clicked it by misstake) And when i was about to load my save file, it where nowhere to find. The loading page where the file is listed was empty.
So i logged out and checked the folder where the saves are stored and my saves was still there but they didnt show up ingame.

So iam a bit confussed of this.
If i use sh3cmdr when i play and then start a game whit the gwx shortcut will my save games be lost again?
I dont want to try it cuz ive done some patrols now and dont want to loose them.

I just gave GWX a 1st go (and loving it!).
One minor thing, not really a bug:

One of the first things I tried, was to see if the Enter-key doesn't fire a torpedo by accident anymore...fixed by default, excellent!
But then I noticed that the Enter-key didn't get a new function.
I always set the Enter-key to TimeCompression=1, and so I did this the usual way:

Quote:

In the Data/Cfg folder you will find the 'commands_en.cfg' file.

At the top are the 6 commands for time commpression. Change command 6 to :

[Cmd6]
Name=Time_compr_normal
Ctxt=1,2,6,9
Key0=0x0D,,"Enter"
I think this also should have been a default GWX-setting, therefore I posted this...maybe a small detail to add in any future-updates.
It's a very usefull key this way, imo.

GWX doesn’t run on my Comp, I end up with CTD’s. :dead:

Don’t know if I did something wrong, I:

Downloaded GWX
Downloaded teh German Keybord hotfix
Downloaded 5MD + 5MD reference
Compare check says OK to all 5 BIN-files. It returns some error messages of the kind of Language =/EN and for GWX exe, so I downloaded GWX.exe form a different server, same result, I don’t think that is the issue

Uninstalled all Mods with JSGME
Rolled back Commander (an old version)
Deleted Commander
Uninstalled SH III; with option to not to keep saved games
Deleted remaining folders

Installed stock SH III, but w/o GameStar
Installed patches 1.1 to 1.4b

Check: Game is loading and running fine on the patched vanilla version, so it is defiantly a GMX issue
Prior to this, I run SHIII 1.4b with IuB 1.3 with harbour traffic and without problem.

Install GWX – No issues
Installed the keyboard hotfix
Installed the “No ships in harbour”-option (don’t remember the exact name any more, the one to save save computing power) via JSGME

Now upon starting SHIII-GWX, it first loads fine into the menu section. I choose a career (no specific one, lets say 1943 St.Nazaire) and press “Start” in the briefing section.

The loading bar goes to 90%, stops and after a while the game CTD’s without any windows message.

I tried this procedure three, four times yesterday with variants, (English version iso the German one, turned down graphics options, started with or without the newly installed Commander 2.7): Basically always the identically CTD at 90%.

My comp is on the lower performance end with 1.83 GHz [edited, not 1.2] and 512 RAM. Guess GWX has higher performance requirements than the vanilla version, at least that’s my last idea. Seems that I have to stay on IuB.:damn:

No need to say that’s sad, because I would LOVED to have the additional flotillas and Jungman’s “Die Hard”-Mod.

Any chance of a GWX version for “low performer PC’s” or a singled-out Jungman’s “Die Hard” mod?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Did you delete the My Documents / SHIII folder?

Rolled back Commander (an old version)....

What version? GWX only supports SH3Cmdr Version 2.6 upwards.(IIRC)

Presumably a totally DIFFERENT installation of SH3?

AndyW 12-18-06 05:40 AM

@Van Helsching: Yep, left no traces.

@danlisa: No, I mean, I deleted my old Commander prior setting up SH III from scratch, i.o.w. I left no trace of old commander files prior re-installing vanilla SH III

@JScones: Well, I completely de-installed SH III it and re-installed it from the same original DVD. The patched vanilla version is running fine.

I believe it's an issue with the low performace of my Comp, is 1.1 GHz/512RAM the watershed between being able to run SHIII 1.4b + IUB 1.03 (more or less decent) and not being able to run it with GWX?

Cheers,

IIRC the old skins will/may not work correctly (cable fix issues) etc. People are being advised by the devs to wait for new skins which I believe are currently being worked on

There is an optional 'Lite Harbor Traffic' mod that comes with GWX which can be enabled with JSGME that also comes with GWX.

so combined with the 8km range mod it should be ok. what about the ocean floor textures? is there anything to set these back to normal or are we still using the advanced ones?

Some minor issues/questions:
1. I have like a gap between sky and sea all around the horizon? I installed 16km atmosphere and running 1280x1024.
2. Shifting between views with F4 - B - U give "random" views, looking skyhigh/diff. direction. It's almost like the keyboard gets hijacked?
3. And finally the night... Too dark for my pleasure, in TGW1.1 I used 16km light and it was perfect. Can it be installed in GWX?

Otherwise running fine here. Great stuff so far (and what a stunning manual!)
