Yea, sometimes when I leave the game at a certain climatic point, I definitely do.

In my current patrol, I am out of fish and the last ship that I hit (large tanker) has been wounded for over a day now and still won't sink. I keep following her from a safe distance hoping she'll go down, but I'm about ready to give up and go home as she slowly creeps closer and closer to land.

By the way, I'm in the middle of grid AM 53, Feb 1943. :yep: ,

Sleep?

I kicked out the bed, and my girlfriend with it. Loaded with eels and 6-packs I'm ready for action ;)

Biggles 11-01-06 04:47 PM

Jeez, how old are you guys? Wifes? Babies? I'll get 16 on december 10th and I've been singel all my life:damn:

Anyway, remember: Sleep is important! It's VERY imprtant if you're gonna have a baby (I think) 'cause soon you'll be awake all nights trying to make the bugger to stop screaming! (............I think...........:hmm: )

My younger daughter has eight years on you.

If you want to know more, try this thread. Just take note of the dates; the earliest posts are more than a year old now.

I had to exit the game while submerged and waiting for a C3 to come in range... :stare:

I really never take a chance and exit game while submerged anymore. There's just too great a risk that something will get screwed up, so I just pause and minimize to desktop if I can't surface. Just make sure you have a backup battery for your PC.

Hydrophone checks with headphones on...man, that's realism and immersion, and keeping the wife happy. That's a win-win scenario in my book.

yeah! i use headphones, a little too loud, once my wife to get my attention because i couldn't hear threw a shoe at me head, crap i thought a destroyer got me, now that was immersion

Well, that's better than what my mate's brother is doing while he's using those things. He comes up from behind and starts to play drum solos.

I have a similar situation to you .. attacked a convoy, sunk a Tanker and crippled a Nelson Battleship which listed and down to 0 knots. I thought 'great' then it all started going wrong. Firstly, a River Escort wouldn't go away and rejoin the rest of the Convoy; when he finally did, I surfaced and loading what torpedoes I had left (2 externals, one for the front and one for the stern) halfway thru the last torp load, the River decides to return and it was touch and go to finish, submerge, cat-and-mouse with the River, sink it with a stern shot then stick a torp in the Nelson = no effect whatsoever so surface the Boat and throw every available shell at it just below the waterline from 2000 metres [as soon as got closer than that, the Nelson opened up on me ?!] I even threw in the star-shells at the end and no indication of sinking whatsoever. I saved the game with no Torps and no Shells and a big lump of renown sat there. The problem is I just can't seem to tear myself away from the Nelson and scratched my head all day trying to think of a solution :hmm: [I don't think speeding up the TC would make any difference either].

That would make me dirty my shorts and have a coronary:eek:. I'd slug his brother next time he does that, especially if you are in the middle of attacking a convoy.:ahoy:

Hylander_1314 11-02-06 11:19 PM

Kpt Munson,

Scrape the keel of that fat battlewagon with your conning tower from stem to stern. It might help, or it might not. Give it a try!

The Munster 11-03-06 02:35 AM

Try anything but now I've slept on it I have the solution, open it up with a tin opener ! Unfortunately, none of the Crew have one and the Cook forgot to bring one so he's walking the plank.
[Could load the deck gun with tinned tomatoes and fire them at my potential 'Knights Cross with Everything' / Million Renown Points ?!]

I know what you guys mean. You get going on a patrol and you find targets and send them to the bottom or slow them down enough to catch back up and take them out and you get a message or a lookout saying "Ship spotted". it is a visious cycle......

P_Funk 11-03-06 06:05 AM

Wives? Babies? Lives? I'm 19. Barely had time to get my heart proper broke (somehow I managed:nope:). But I do love a good SH3 patrol. But when it comes to staying up late though good patrols with successes can make me stay up later than I'd like, it's usually when I have NO activity for hours that I'm up later trying to justify my time use by sinking at least one ship.

Bloody monotony. :nope:
