OK, here it is. A pic of Grant and Anze in our (Jim and me) room. On the wall about head height is the TV. Directly below as a conventional hot water radiator, on the other wall is an electric panel heater.
But Jim said... http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7632 :haha: |

Pretty obvious Tony and I have returned home safely so I await similar news from the other four tearaways.
grateful thanks to you all for making the effort to attend and make what was a fantastic 2 1/2 days, I only wish it could have been longer. @Anze...I will be thinking of you hanging around Stanstead until 7am tomorrow my friend but top marks for getting here....pure SubSim Ninja attitude :sunny: Picture and stories to follow no doubt but mine may take a little longer than usual because of current pooter technicalities. @Neal...we all appreciated your SubSim U-Boat cocktails :yeah: |
Jim and Grant looking out for the Lamb and Lion Inn.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7630 Anze looking for a map. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7629 Guess the shirt. And I'd like to thank Grant for his self-editing of the hand gesture, saved me doing it. This was after Grant had got changed due to a 'little accident' ending in wet trousers. I'm assured all those from the Houston meet will know about his weak bladder issue. :03: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7628 Jim trying Anze's honey mead, aka 'paint stripper'. I thought it was lovely. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7631 Elvington Air Museum - memorial to all the women who lost their lives whilst serving in any capacity for all things airworthy. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7637 On a more serious note, it was hard to get Anze out of the Jet Provost cockpit exhibit. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7634 What does this do? What does that do? Neeeeeeeyowwwwww! http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7635 109 G6 :woot: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7633 And finally from me, for there will be many more by the others, where proper railway locomotion started - Stevenson's Rocket. OK, a replica, but a bloomin' good one. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=7636 |

Just arrived back in deepest darkest Essex after the drive back doon Sooth. Jamie, Gemma and Anze all delivered to their respective drop off points.
Anze has a bit of a wait for his plane so hope he gets home ok. It was a real pleasure meeting you all. I'll see if I can get a working link to some photos but all the ones on the camera will have to wait a few weeks till I get home. |
I dunno, I spend three days with an Aussie, get back and then have to help next door with a snake problem. Fortunately it was just a grass snake, unfortunately she'd already brained the poor bugger before she brought it round so I had to put it out of its misery. :nope:
Chaps, it was an absolute pleasure, major thanks to Tarjak for the transportation and sorting the accommodation, and the excellent headgear, and thanks to Jim for the gifts. It was a great time, and brilliant to meet you all. :D Anyway, without further ado: http://i.imgur.com/0OGE9Wp.jpg Tarjak and Jim compare lens sizes http://i.imgur.com/kEBKqh3.jpg Left to right: Jimbuna, Gemma (my wife), Herr B, Betonov and Tarjak. http://i.imgur.com/XL9ajvt.jpg Shambling through the Shambles http://i.imgur.com/p4gs53q.jpg Betonov and our multi-million pound new weapon. http://i.imgur.com/bWvcUfk.jpg A band of brothers (and a sister) http://i.imgur.com/6wgzbtV.jpgJim and Betonov in front of a Banana http://i.imgur.com/Pc7yRGN.jpg The secret Soviet spy sabotaging our Canberras flight director http://i.imgur.com/CiHgguO.jpg Herr B at the stick http://i.imgur.com/iLQ18Vw.jpg The Jimbuna, as seen in its native environment. :yep: |
