:har: Now that's funny!!:yeah:

UnderseaLcpl 02-15-11 09:59 AM

As ashamed as I am of the fact, I could not keep myself from laughing. Pfft! It even says "Siemens" on the side. :rotfl2::up:

I wish I had a pic that was an equally funny counterpunch for women's rights or something very wise to say about individual rights, but I don't. All I can do is laugh every time I look at that picture. I honestly think it could only be made more funny by a "sammich" reference. Women are so right about us being impossible juvenile jerks....

We'd better hide before Frau Kaleun sees this. Her wrath is likely to be terrible and her wit and/or scorn is likely to be a lot funnier and a lot more brutal.

I hereby disavow any knowledge of this post and Feur Frei's post, not that I'd know anything about them. I was away on business.

Actually my first thought was, I can't believe that many people still own that many clothes that require ironing for that type of joke to still be funny. :O:

UnderseaLcpl 02-15-11 11:37 AM

What joke? I was away on business.

Oh, you mean that ironing thing. I hadn't noticed it until you brought it up.

Herr-Berbunch 02-15-11 11:52 AM

What is this i-ron-ing thing you mention :hmmm:

Lord_magerius 02-15-11 01:24 PM

Ironing:
1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
2. Literature .
a.
a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.
b. (especially in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., especially as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion.
3. Socratic ironing
4. Dramatic ironing
5. an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
6. the incongruity of this.
7. an objectively sardonic style of speech or writing.
8. an objectively or humorously sardonic utterance, disposition, quality, etc.
