Dosn't happen all the time it is just a random rendering effect problem

Save and then reload and it stops or switching between underwater and or interior cams sometimes makes it stop as well. EAGLE_01

Faamecanic the download links for LBO do not need any manual adjustment just put them in the MOD folder for JSGME the activate it.

SWEET! Thanks for your (and others) hard work! I stopped playing SH4 after a few campaign missions after 1.3 and went back to GWX for SH3. I think this mod will add some of the realism that so destroys the immersiveness this sim could have had.

leovampire 09-16-07 01:49 PM

But when Reflections on the water is released

What LBO did for the ocean this will do for the entire game outside of the sub and will make you want to stay on the Bridge of the sub and not fast forward through the game anymore.

But glad you guys like the LBO work for now.

I was more referring to the "sub on rails" as being my major submersion spoiler.... again thanks for your work on this

I hope this helps.

Im using the highest 1600x??? setting for my screen, do you think that contributes to my low 20's, high teens FPS?

Great work by LV, and from ALL other angles looks fantastic, but looking forward is like jell-O. Anyone know why?:hmm:

I do experience this a lot also... maybe you get that with people running with 17-23 approx FPS. Dunno

I run at these FPS and do not get this jello effect. I do not know what causes it.

>>Ctrl-"N",stops shaking, for me. We also get blinking, seems video card related, but have no other solution.

occasional engine rendering problems

and if you pause your game and ctl tab to some other program like talking on line and going back to the game it can happen as well. I experience it more when I slow my PC down to test over all FPS rate's for lower end machine's but at full running capabilities it happens much less if at all.

Now that my friends is what I call professional testing! Well done Leo, its so rare to find such dedication these days....UBI, take note!

Hi Chopped50 , I would certainly think about lowering your screen resolution for this sim
if your only getting low 20's fps playing in 1600x1200, I prefer to sacrifice some good looks for in game performance and smoothness .

Leo,

I've been following this thread on and off. I gotta say, this looks freakin' remarkable and I can't wait to try it out. It's SO different from the stock screens. Stock looks like a typical 3D ocean. This looks real.

Has anyone done some very high resolution side-by-side comparison shots where the LBO pic is as close as possible to the non-LBO pic, so we can toggle back and forth and see the difference? Though I get the feeling you have to see it in motion to really appreciate it.

BTW, I also had the jelly effect when I tried it about a month ago, and I run at a very, very high FPS. The jellywaves would oscillate at about 4-5 oscillations per second within a very small (~20-30 sq foot) area of ocean, usually very close to the boat. My rig is 3.1 GHz Core2 E6600 with an EVGA 8800 GTS 640 MB overclocked. I do turn on 4x Multisampling AA and all the high-end in-game post processing options and so on. I usually saw the jelly from the bridge while looking to the left side, maybe 45 - 90 degrees left of bow. Maybe we need to sort out the cause of this by everyone sharing their system specs, FPS (in a particular port so it's all matched), and graphic settings.

In the new mod being Alpha released on Friday

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...85&postcount=1

I have noticed less and less problems with my original ocean work and how the game handles things. We managed to repair a lot of things going on with the game graphics wise minsc_tdp I don't know if it is because of how many times I load or reload the game or what ever but havn't even seen it in my own game for a while now.

The new team I have working with me have been busting ass helping me work out all the bug's in differn't environmental stuff so the enhancments we are making don't come appart at the seams so to speak.

But this is an alpha release on Friday so we can see what everyone says and what we still need to work on.

I'm running the sim on my new rig, 3.2 Dual Core, 2 gig RAM, NV 8800GTX, and SB X-Fi extreme, Win Vista. FPS isn't an issue..I'll try the ctrl-n thing, although switching cameras hasn't worked for me.

Thanks again, though for all the hard work you mod guys have put into this sim.
