Then you get the wood. Bonus for you.

No,big mess....take me a week to saw and cut up all that...He wanted another $1000 to do it and chip up the branches...taking all the wood of course..

The tree will stand for now until my friend can get up here and cap it for dinner and beer..

No! If he wants the wood he can 'do' the tree for the wood.

I agree with bby. Spend the money on a chainsaw, or better yet, an ax. Then you can get some exercise other than walking by the Dan.:03::up: Make sure that Bear stays out of the way.

I had a Birch tree in the back corner of the lot. It got sick and ate up by Saprobes. After it had been sufficiently consumed, I just pushed it over.:O:

chainsaw might come in handy for threatening the cook to cook.:D

Traditionally, the wife cooks and the hubby works. But I guess we are not talking a 'traditional' household here.

If that Oak is big enough in diameter and straight it would make nice boards. If not, then firewood.

Don't do it...many years ago I was charged £250 to rid me of a tree in the rear garden. I wanted the stump left standing about 4' from the ground to act as a base for a feeding table for the birds.

The guy and his helper came and chainsawed the tree branches off. putting them into his wagon bit by bit and leaving the main section of the trunk lying on the lawn saying he'd be back at the weekend to collect it, he wanted it to make garden furniture out of.

Muggins (me) paid him and the twunt never returned!!!

That'd not likely happen around here. They're getting $250 bucks a cord for firewood.
