Hi guys , fantastic pics.

I saw a Vlackveirling on the winter garden of a type 7. Does anybody know if these were ever fitted to the VIIC/41?
Cheers
Thor

I don't recall them ever being standard on the VIIC/41; however, kaleuns had alot of discretion in regards to anti-aircraft armament. I see no reason it wouldn't/couldn't have replaced the flak cannon. Will keep an eye out for photos.

EDIT: I recently discovered that the boat I am building, Type VIIC/41 U-297, had the Flakveirling. No pics, unfortunately.

There was a special sort of U-Boat called "U-flak boats" U-221 , U-263 and U-271 where some of these sort, but returned to duty as traditional VIIC attack boats.

I think the most U-Boats used the Zwillings Flak. And the most used to dive and don't try to destroy the planes. :hmmm:
