I imagine it would be "Hit" or "Target", I know the Yanks use "Target" when firing on an object with a tank, so I'd wager it'd be something along those lines.

As Herr-Berbunch said, it can be situational. When a ship is doing shore bombardment, a land-based spotter will call back "Fire for effect", which means, "That's good. Concentrate all your fire right where that last one was."
