@scurvy

It shouldn't take more than a minute. I just ran mine again and counting out by mouth it took about 11 seconds (on my machine).

As for where it gets the data from, it's from the cfg files. And if i remember correctly i made the program specifically for getting the mast info because SH5 had some issues with the stadimeter on release.

And yes, the path should be the main SH4 folder. The one with the sh4.exe file.

Ok, just had the roar,

January 16th 1942

I have been battered by 3 IJN warships, red boxes everywhere in the damage management screen.

Was forced to surface due to servere damages, the shore batteries got me as i broke surface... All sounds went loppy and the roar appeared.

I'm now back at periscope depth, but nothing is working subwise, it's time to beach and the POW camps beckon.

Sorry. 010 is the Cadillac of Hex Editors.
:haha:

If you followed s7rikeback's link above you'll see all it's features.
In a nut shell? It allows me to do on the fly scripts that are just as powerful as a full blown programming environment.

With less hassle and cost!

If you can do anything by hand with S3D or whatever on a file?
010 can do it to mass files in the blink of an eye.

DD_Asashio Textures

Okay folks,

I have fixed the texture issue with the NDD_Asashio unit.

100 FOTRSU v0.56 DDAsashio Skin Fix 13032017
Available now from "FOTRSU Core Mod Some Assembly Required"

Third visit same date as before, and different place, same audio issue.

It's only kicking in, when i change depth it seems. If i stay on surface no re-action, but as soon as i dive or surface it's there...

Now, it's only a one off sound so far, i can repeatedly dive and surface again within the area without it appearing again during the current visit.

I've had it do the sound 3 different times in one visit, but I can't find the "trigger" yet. I've disabled several layers to the point where there is nothing left in Truk, and still get the sound coming in on a Single Mission, or while traveling to Truk, and really close. I'm going to try a few different ranges and see if I can close in on it. In the meantime s7rikeback, did you see the video here:

That's the 42b Convoys, Merchants and (especially) the TaskForce layers. I think we've pretty much figured that out. btw, the suspended burning DD, that's on the side of one of the island's hills. when I deleted all the 42b layers the one time, there was still a burning DD, though in a different location... very strange... From what I could tell, it was a 42a layer leftover... Yikes! Fix in the works for all of that.

As for the sound itself, it isn't any of the ones I thought it might be... so I'll mute each wav file one by one, and we'll find it, since I can guarantee you I can get it on that Single Mission, no problem everytime...

Could it be two save files merging together?

Rockin Robbins 03-13-17 07:22 PM

Uploading Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate v0.56 PublicBeta EN to the Subsim FTP area now. About 200 Kb/S for a 1 GB file, you do the math. I'm taking a break!:D:D:D

I'll hook it up to the download tomorrow morning.

If everyone else gave it a thumbs up, should be today, but we'll have to see... We are now awaiting word from Rockin Robbins' top-secret hush-hush lah-bore'-ah-tore'-ee near Cape Canaveral, Florida for a "Launch!!!" update...

It's uploaded to the Subsim FTP site and s7rikeback came out with the Asashio Skin Fix after I did it. Taking it down, adding in the skin fix and putting it back up!:D:D:D
