As far as finding themselves out in the ocean, they use the old tried and true method of Sextant and charts. You can see the navigator using a sextant when he is on the conning tower in 'Das Boot'. The method is hundreds of years old and still works to near perfection. Its hard to learn though. |
Nice new screenies:arrgh!:

Look, fellas, don't shoot the life-boats ok? That's just bad Karma.
|
Neal are you going to release an early review like you did with SHIII? That kept our mouths watering until relase.
If its 10 15 pages long that will be ok. Lots of pictures etc. |
Well, not running aground is going to be a challenge
It's clear from the screens of the sea floor that the risk of going aground or striking something is very real. We're going to have to really pay attention, as I think we are going to be wading in shallow waters a lot.

Here's a quick question ive seen oen or 2 shots of the sea floor which looks pretty good but will there be any wrecks/shoals etc oh and any biologics?:hmm:
|
Nice shots Neal!
So do you have a choice between Imperial or Metric Measurements? One of those Periscope shots looked a bit too shallow for feet. And the ID Book data was in meters. |
You just have to love those anchor icons:up:. I notice they're in addition to the small dots scattered about, so I assume they denote friendly harbours?

Another batch of screens from Check-six.fr

What I am perplexed about is that in the control room shot (Check Six Site) the Depth Gauge shows 60 FEET, while the small interface gauge shows 18 METERS!
Feet, Meters,...a choice???? I'm soooo confused!!! :damn: :damn: |
