Think I will after dig my VHS collection out sometime, and watch the classic Pertwee and Baker. Because to be honest if want for Jenna Coleman I dont think I would have bothered with the last series.

EARTHSHOCK...A good one from Peter's ere as the Doctor.

STEED 11-30-14 01:25 PM

Another great one from Peter Davidson ere.

Next week Colin Baker in average one for his time...vengeance on varos. Could have been worst, Colin Baker the man who has many fans would put it brought Dr Who to the edge and never recovered thanks to him. :hmmm:

Which is it, Davis or Davidson?
Hint: It's neither.

If you do a little investigating you would find that he hated the outfit and hated some of the scripts he was handed. My personal opinion is that it wasn't Baker's fault at all. The man who ruined that era was producer Jon Nathan Turner.

Nooooooo!

Colin Baker was great. He was just given poor scripts and a bizarre outfit.

The reason that Doctor Who started to decline then was that because the scripts and production values became worse, the BBC didn't like the show, reduced the budget, and that made them like it even less, so they reduced the budget even more...

And the stories weren't always bad. Revelation of the Daleks is great.

And the series did recover when The Cartmel arrived.

STEED 11-30-14 05:52 PM

OK third time lucky Peter Davison. :/\\!!

Well you deep deep deep deep Who fans would say that as you fiddle with your sonic screwdrivers. :har:

First episode was rubbish, just the Doctor poncing around in the snow most part. Too be honest that story could have been done as a good two part story once you cut out all that dead wood.

He certainly seemed a nice enough person when I met him, good humoured. Likewise McCoy. :yep:

Did you see the '50ish Anniversary Special' put together by Peter Davison and featuring Baker, McCoy and McGann? I assume you did, but I had to ask. If not, you'll love it. They have a lot of fun poking fun at themselves.

I did indeed, it was hilarious. :haha:

STEED 12-01-14 08:00 AM

Colin Baker was the most hated Doctor for all kinds of reasons and for me I always felt he was not suited for the role. Yes as posted by you lot there was XYZ reasons as well but he just looked out of place and not sure about himself to me.

I didn't out right hate him as most part I hated the dreadful story lines he got and thinking about now it reflected on the way he came across. :hmmm:

STEED 12-26-14 07:33 AM

I forgot to post so here we go..

Colin Baker - vengeance on varos
Not bad, there were some silly things in it but over all ok.

Sylvester McCoy - Battlefield
A load of rubbish bar one point, nice to see the Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart.

Paul McGann - Dr Who Movie
Can some one tell me why the heck would the Daleks put the Master on trial only to exterminate him? :hmmm:

Not yet seen this years Xmas special, may watch it latter.

Good news for BossMark..http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-30602537

They didn't. The Time Lords put him on trial and found him guilty. They then handed him over to the Daleks for extermination.

STEED 12-26-14 09:29 AM

There is no mention of the Time Lords or Daleks putting the Master on trial. So I stand corrected from my point, so who put him on trial and why on Skaro? Seems a dam silly place too as the Daleks hate all other life and Time Lords must be on top of their hate list.

This is a fan rework opener but the vocals are unchanged.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP4ClizZwbw

Why use Daleks to eliminate the Master? We know from Arc of Infinity the Time Lords sentence the Doctor to death to prevent Omega's return. Why out source to the Daleks, cheaper if they did it.

The opener was very poor and could have been done better.
