I assume you are talking about the AA and we are aware of it, in a mix up while doing other stuff, Keltos and I ended up with different versions of the gun (my fault) and the sight wasn't on it. Since the gun came from a ship, the 'sight' was just a hexagon shaped piece of metal, not intended to be playable. Keltos fixed that and put on a sight but then the mixup, so it will be fixed. There is a sight on the double barrel model. Thanks for the info, this one we know about, but appreciate it when you bring these thing up so we can fix them. Peabody |

early war 13.2 mm AA gun needed
http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/105...76mgpicpj3.jpg
http://www.combinedfleet.com/13_76.htm Production reached 1,200 guns per month late in 1944. The magazine held 30 rounds and was similar in design to that for the 25 mm AA gun. Elevation With 0.11 lbs. (0.05 kg) Shell Range @ 45 degrees : 6,560 yards (6,000 m) Range @ 50 degrees : 7,108 yards (6,500 m) http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNJAP_13mm-76_mg.htm This weapon is a 13.2-mm (52-caliber) Hotchkiss type, gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed antiaircraft machine gun, mounted on a naval-type pedestal mount. It is fed by a 30-round semicircular magazine which fits into the top of the receiver. The gun has a shoulder stock and pistol grip. Antiaircraft sights are mounted on the gun. They are composed of a front-ring antiaircraft sight and a rear sight: the latter consists of a small vertical rod with a ball tip. This weapon is the standard heavy antiaircraft machine gun. My IJN submarines' AA guns will be modified in the next release of the mod : early war : 1 x 13.2 mm AA gun (if I can find/make one) or 1 x 25 mm AA gun then : 1 x 25 mm AA gun in twin mount. The 2 AA guns in the tub will be reduced to only one as per RL, one mount possibility will be retained aft of the tub, on deck. keltos |

IJN sonar
Sonar would appear to represent the field in which generous use was made of german assistance. The evidence of captured British euipment is much in evidence, notably in the adoption of the streamlined soound dome and the chemical recorder.
During the war a mass-production type of both hydrophone and echo-ranging equipment was evolvedn each based on german design, with the latter being virtually a direct copy. Certain special application sets were devellopped, some previous to the war,and paramount among these was the successful underwater radio reception equipment using ultra-long waves. Operationnal messages were passed through this system immediately prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/7562/sonar1pj1.jpg http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7383/sonar2ef5.jpg http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4999/sonar3ct1.jpg http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/5...hometerdi9.jpg http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/8937/sonar4ns0.jpg http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/5755/sonar5rp6.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/9160/sonar6mw3.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/s...jpg/1/w357.png USNTMJ-200B-0343-0412 IJN sonar |

Now that we know what they actually saw through it we have to mod it ! keltos |

:hmmm: :timeout:
I think that last scope shot there is faked. if you look at periscope shots in general, you will see that the whole scope view isnt visible, just a little tiny bit because the camera was pressed up to the lens. also, it's too... generic. it looks like a sniper rifles crosshair. if it WAS a periscope, it would definately be an attack periscope. more so than the simple crosshaired one from the I-400. it's hard to collect data from a single crosshair with no ticks to either side |

question
I notice a couple images that sorta look like the sen toku from stock 1.5..do you intend to provide working deck armament as shown on the stock sub? It looks like it hsa some mean light guns and AA..one thing I'd look foreward to driving one of these would be encountering fishingboats to shoot up with that quad gun.

The Boat you refer to is the I-14 a Type AM submarine which had a tower with a 2 plane hangar similar to the Sen Toku's. As discussed a bunch of times the triple AA from stock are too slow and clumsy for them to be used : you get sunk before they fire at the planes.. and the Vierling was a german gun. We have a single 13.2 mm AA gun, a single and a double 25 mm AA gun. That should suffice. We also have 2 types of IJN deckguns. Keltos |
what do you mean by sluggish? Rate of fire or the spin rate of the turret? And is that a problem with the AI or when you the player are manning the gun? Heck, I can bring a deck gun of an american sub to bear on an H8k. Came close to hitting one...besides, from what I hear, most players don't mess with planes. The guns on the stock I-14 would still be fun to have, after all, I can sink a small old engine aft with my 40mm AA gun on the american sub, so just unsing it to blast up small merchants would be cool. Maybe not consider it a priority but please do consider the stock configuration. Hoenstly, I wish I could help yea, as I've been poking around with some files and I think I can figure out some things but I'm not quite there yet. (Being able to change available guns on a sub for instance..I think I can do that)
