Trying to make it so the FPS rate dosn't drop as some hve reported and to make the effect's less intence over all. |
Okay the 2 new downloads are up for the classic and light zones
I highly sugest you do not apply them to your game unless you are in port!!!!!!!
The reason for this is if you have any undetectable damage to your sub by normal game means to check there is a chance the effect's changes will show this. They replace the Hollywood effect's folders and the Scene Fire Lightning Oil Slik folders. And will over write a couple of the texture files in that folder because the fire has been reworked a little as well as the oil slik textures. I will stay on station for a bit to answer questions or handle problem's. I already downloaded the files and opend them up to make sure they are working okay. Enjoy guys!! BTW thank C DuDe for getting me to wake up and get this done and out as far as the choices in the zone's file's and what not. Also the reason for the new updated Scene.dat file is due to some research help from JakeToox who does the hex reading for me we got some more insite into the settings for the water reflections so I made some changes to try and reduce the Wave State #4 and #3 reflections on the surface more and in Wave State #2 and #1 and increase of surface reflections. But I havn't had time to see and test them all in game so you are my guinny pig's LOL!!! But if I am correct in what I did then a FPS increase should happen for the times when the Sea foam comes into play. Feed back is wanted accepted and needed Please! |
Great LV, luck has it I am in port, this and a few other things to add :up:

At least they left the game open for further work and development for us. |
STOP! I haven't been able to leave port for weeks for the want of adding these mods!
Thanks to all concerned for some great enhancements to the game. And a BIG thanks to LV for all your hard work and obvious enthusiasm. Nice one mate. Just one small request though if I may? When publishing a new mod would you clarify whether any of the previous mods need to be removed via JSGME or whether it's OK just to intall over the top and overwrite the relevant files as per the warning in JSGME? Many thanks, WB. |
I just wanted to add my voice here and say what a great mod this really is and thankyou to all involved.
I also watched the two vids by Stabiz this morning and they were excellent. Leo,do you think it might be possible to have the boats react a lot more in the heavy sea;s.At the moment my Tambour is pitching and rolling fine in 13m winds/sea but for some reason the Balao seems fairly much rock steady in the same sea state..Maybe the Balao is a much more stable sub.Ever since i started to play SH4,i have always wished the subs would pitch and roll a lot more than they do and if this could be done,i for one would be very grateful. Thanks again everyone. Hector. |
The atmospheric stuff is outstanding, I've found myself making wallpapers all week! As well as spending an unusual amount of time standing on the bridge, gaping at sunsets. The crew is probably wondering if the Old Man has gone a little soft in the head.
However, I'm a little underwhelmed by the fire and smoke. I believe I've done everything right as far as installation goes, but regardless of time of day, my fires are various shades of orange, and smoke is always a grayish-brown, with no black. Is is how it's supposed to look? I mean no criticism, I'm just wondering if something's amiss. The fire animation is not blocky or pixelated as other skippers have posted, just the colours seem flat. I wiped out my saves folder, yadda yadda, no extra copies of materials.dat and all that. |

Thank You
Thank you Count Leo for the NSM/Hollywood zone.cfg.
Without modders like you (I do some mods myself) and others, most of my sims would not be the great simulations they are today. Rock on:rock: |

It actually is posible to make the boats pitch and roll more that they do now. It involves changes in the sub sim file made using Mini Tweaker. The particular listing in that file you look at is called gc height.... short for gravity center height By making this value higher you cause the center of the boat's gravity to move higher... the result is more motion. However... in my experiments, which have been trial and error, I have noticed that too high a value will cause the boat to become very unstable...even to the point of rolling over!. Also, too high a value effects the stabilty of the deck and AA guns when you manually target. Small changes do give more realistic motion and don't seem to affect the stability of the guns... |
