These shots were taken during a TypeXXI-patrol, close to the Norwegian coast, July'44.
The Uboat in question (U-2502) was acting as an additional escort to an German convoy, which ran into a Allied Hunter-killer group, consisting of 5 destroyers of various sizes.
As we were close to the coast, a contact-report was send.

The U-2502 sank 3 destroyers with acoustic-homing torpedoes, and after surfacing again, we opened up fire on Avengers which came in from the West...destroyed 4 of those little buggers, while the other aircrafts + 2 remaining destroyers were taken care of by German aircraft that finally came in (as a response to our contact-report), and by the sole surviving German destroyer-escort.

It was a battle which I never will forget.
The only loss on our side was 1 destroyer-escort!

Yes it is actually. Japanese Sub Chaser in Penang Harbour 1944. SH3 with GWX1.03 no other mods. A little bit of Picasa magic though to make it look shiny!. ;)
