Moira bought this for a giggle to have with our curry tonight... she asked "Do you want to risk it?" And I'd been wondering earlier whether corona has reached Lincolnshire yet I'll let you know what it was like later.... hopefully PS: Aktung mentioned this beer in an earlier post https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...4&postcount=63 |
Maltsmiths Pilsner Style Lager
https://i.postimg.cc/43q2HqY3/hmnmj.jpg ABV 4.6% Four for £6 ASDA A crisp, clean lager with pine, citrus and earthy hop notes. The second new lager I've tried this week and it certainly didn't disappoint. |
Hatherwood "Golden Goose" Golden Ale

A beautifully hoppy, bitter amber ale; my favourite so far has always been "Golden Crown", but this just edged it aside... especially at the price. We did our weekly shop at LIDL yesterday, since our local ALDI don't seem capable of enforcing 'social distancing' (Moira got really freaked there last week) so this means there'll be some different beers for me to 'review' Previously mentioned here: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...&postcount=100 |
I'll be quiet around these parts for awhile I suspect seeing as my focus is currently purely on Carling, Carlsberg and Dark Rums :)

Sure do Martin and this was another of my favourites :)

Hatherwood "Ginger Grizzly"

A delicious, refreshing ale with a fairly gentle ginger burn on the tongue |

To publicise a "Lichtenstein" exhibition at the Tate Gallery a special batch of beer was brewed, strictly limited edition. Not available down here in Australia, but it looks like it's got a good head and colour. Can't tell you much more than that. It's probably all gone by now or hoarded by collectors. Gotta love the label. The original sold for many gazillion dollars. Roy Lichtenstein my fav artist ( sorry E ) Official beer of Subsim ????? |
No worries, mate... cheers :Kaleun_Cheers:

The boy was at sea during the recent Fathers Day here in the UK so he left me a mixed case of 'golden ales' I've looked at the index in #1 and only two haven't been mentioned so here is the first of those. Smell: Fruity, Hoppy, Spicy. Taste: Balanced, Crisp, Bitterness. |
My brother just landed a job as distribution manager of Platform Beer Company. For my birthday the other day, I got a nice sample pack of their scratch and dent cans. 36 in total. The pilsner and lager are really good.
(Yup, shameless plug for my bro, but he gives me free beer so....) |

BRAKSPEAR OXFORD GOLD - 4.0% Oxford Gold has a citrusy flavour with a fresh and zesty fruity finish. This pale ale has a gold, glittery glisten with crystal malts to enhance the body of the beer. The fresh aroma is contributed by a selective blend of Fuggles, Goldings and Styrian hops. Oxford Gold is the perfect accompaniment for fish, chicken and salad dishes. |
^ Funnily enough, Moira got me some of that for my birthday today
https://i.imgur.com/Q6B3SIV.jpg A while ago she picked up this Bourbon for me at LIDL for only around £12 (40% proof) and it's very nice https://i.imgur.com/DsUKRVF.jpg But today for my birthday she also gave me this: a more expensive aged bottle of the same, so it will be interesting to taste the difference |
St-Feuillien Limited Edition No 2 (2017)
https://s.zimedia.com.tw/s/s5RvJc-0 One of the best barley wines I've had. Not too sweet but very nicely balanced with hops, it's kind of a Trappist meets a barley wine. One I definitely would love to have a few crates of, if I was stinking rich... |
