Ohoy fellow subbies!

My name is Captain Geir, and my organic organism I'm trapped in, was made in Norway. Since age of 6, after seeing Das Boot for the first time, I got insanely addicted to submarines. First subsim I could develope the addiction on was the game Silent Service I on Commodore 64 at about the age of 7-8. As any other relationships with something that really touches you inside, it wont wear off that easy.

At age of 12 I drawed my first submarine after best knowledge after studying Das Boot, and with good help from teachers at school, and other relative grown ups. With hydroplanes, ballasttanks, pipes, vents, etc. This was the absolute peak of my addiction, what could be considered a mix of fantacy psychosis and manic depression. This lasted about a half year. No sub build due to lack of funds, lack of RL orientation, lack of age. But! It was fun.

Since then it came to an halt due to other real life stuff after puberty age.

After 2005 discovering SHIII the love for submarines have flowered again, but in moderate way, and been playing since then.

Im 37 years old now, and I dont regret getting subdued in subs, specially in the VIIC sub, what is the most thoughest, best looking, most advanced sub during it's era.

(Calling it "addiction" since the thought of a sub was more or less a part of the brain at that time, just for getting the word right.)

Thanks for a good community over the years, and specially thanks for the devs for making solid mods and supermods like GWX 3.0, what made SH3 10 times better! :Kaleun_Applaud: Im sorry I cant contribute much other than actually sink as many ships as possible. Must be a couple of megatons now after all those years.

Used to play SH4 a few years ago and played a little SH5 when it first came out.
I was largely disappointed by it, but after I watched a few videos on Youtube recently, I thought to give it another go.

Hello everybody!
 

I am 56 and have been a keen player of simulators since I had my first Spectrum back in the eighties!
I live in Madrid and I am Spanish.
I am 2nd degree aeronautical engineer and thus my favourite sim is IL2 and all related WWII aircraft simulators
I love to fly and sail myself. I used to be a private pilot and sail a 15 m sailboat in the mediterranean sea,
I also love scuba diving
I had been playing SH3 a lot but I had left it aside and now I am trying to play SH5
To my surprise the Game is a total disaster. I would like someone to recommend me which mods are needed to recover at least SH3 standard
I have updated to 1.02 versión and installed The Dark Wraith 7.4.2 Mod.
I have found two bugs now after playing not too much.
I saved an historical misión I am playing (to recover the "touch") after hitting a 8000 ton cargo ship with a torpedo. She was happily burning and sailing at 7.5 kt after the hit and I fired a second torpedo. I was expecting, as it used to happen in SH3, that the draft should have been increased by the hit but it remained so my torpedo passed below without exploding.
Then I tried to load the game which I had saved after the first hit but now the merchant was sailing at 10,5 kt and no fire on board while I had minus one torpedo.

I can only decrease UZO 7 times when other members of the crew are on sight!
