I'm running it on a old laptop updated to win 10. I have version 1.5, I think it was installed from the old Cd. I haven't used the laptop in a while, I moved from my home and I took it with me and found it on it. Yes, standard location. I just put the main folder inside Mods and enabled it from jsgme. Can it be because I was using TMO before? |
Well, I knew there'd be more questions... You say 'old laptop updated to Windows 10'... Did you happen to re-install Silent Hunter after you did the update? That's not always necessary, but sometimes is. One of the issues with the 'modern' Windows is how well it protects you from yourself. I say that fasiciously, tongue-in-cheek, but seriously also. Windows clamps down tight on the Program Files directory - er, folder, and does not like it when you, the user, make changes there (such as with a mod) without Windows' "permission" through its interface.
Since you have a disk version of the game, things will be easier. If the game ran fine before, you can try to just copy the game to another folder, and try to play it there. I've made myself a C:\Games\ folder for one of my versions that I copied the entire 'Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific' folder structure to, and then made a short-cut to the 'SH4.exe' in that folder on the desktop. For my other computer and version, I just copied the whole Ubisoft folder structure to the root of my 2nd hard drive, such that I have 'D:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter...', with the desktop shortcut pointing to the SH4.exe there. When you installed the game previously, that copied the required dll and other files and settings to the computer, so doing similar to my example should work. If not, delete your copied stuff, uninstall Silent Hunter from the Program Files (x86) folder, and re-install it. Just use a different folder. Anymore, I just delete the 'Program Files (x86)' part out of the path in the install utility dialog, and let it rip. A really good thing to do, for multiple reasons when you re-install, is to use Rockin Robbins' SH4CMS utility. Read up on it in that thread and in his ReadMe. Super-cool stuff... |

I'll try this, but SH4 is working perfectly fine, I was playing with TMO until yesterday, so maybe it's something else that is wrong? |
Could very well be, unless you had the TMO in there prior to the Win10 "Upgrade"...
btw, was that a "deep" joke there, eh?... like an SH4 airplane, it flew over my head without engaging... :har: We're in town until Thursday, by the way... |
Is there ctds our error in 0,53 versión?

It's very possible as it still is in Beta testing. If your playing .53 can you be more specific about what is happening to make the CTD? :D |

That is when I foolishly announced the launching of the FOTRSU project, to bring Maddy's incredible stuff from FOTRS 1.5 into SH4 1.5. Luckily a bunch of much better modders than I jumped at the chance to be part of the project. Don't let cdrsubron7 snow you, he's indispensable to the project.:D:D Lately we've been talking about your and Peabody's goodies and how great it would be to be able to incorporate some of them into FOTRSU. Propbeanie was working on MAD and you already had MAD working, for instance! So we would LOVE to have your opinions on FOTRSU. |
You mean Fall of the Rising Sun v2.0 for SH4 v1.4, right, Rockin??
|
Sorry guys, but where can I find a list of FOTRS features? How is it compared to TMO?
Kind regards |

Since FOTRSU is still in Beta testing I'm not sure a specific list of what it entails has been compiled. What are the specifics you're looking for? |
