You should read the pdf of the US mission to Japan 1945

you will find all the accurate data on the IJN weapons etc..

They had ship to air rockets installed on the latest aircraft carriers for one !:o

They had MAD (Magnetic Anomaly Detectors) on planes

They did have radar though they were lagging behind the us (they favored optics like night binoculars made by Nikon)

etc..

When I checked on it this morning it was with MS IE so maybe that's why I found it working. I'm still at work right now. :O:

It downloaded per instructions (using IE). Thanks!

I have, and I've learned it's not safe to assume they can't see you. Cost me an early death.

I do have another question concerning the old "Snorkel" hook... on the German side, since the US side does the radar antenna, does the snorkel still function as intended for the Uboats? Other than the fact that the oxygen (atmosphere) doesn't restore..

The on/off (above waterline/below waterline) will not show....I hid the separate object. If I hadn't, yes the entire SD mast/head would have been misplaced....that's why there's a trade off between raising/lowering the antenna compared to having it turn off/on.

There still may be an issue with Radar reporting detected objects. The SJ, when its on the boat will report detected objects by the subs AI crewmen. As long as the sub is surfaced the SJ is "on" (even though when you go to one of the two radar stations....you have to turn the darn thing "on"!?). If you don't want any radar reports at all when surfaced (besides on your own discretion...when you want to turn the radars "on"), I'll have to make the SJ follow the SD parameters too. Just more work involved. There are three SD units.....there are over a dozen SJ units.

==========

Yes, leave the air cap alone for now. There can still be reasons to lower the "model count" rendered within the scene....but the TC issue should be less when the radar won't pick up targets, especially friendly ones.

==========

The Snorkel for the German side is not affected by what we've done with it on the American side....completely different files involved. Any problem issues with the Snorkel are still there as before.

Thank you CapnScurvy. Great stuff. I am really learning a lot about all this... This is basically the kind of stuff that should have already been in the game, ya know?... but then, think of the knowledge we wouldn't have the need to learn? Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?... :03:

Cool beans! I love that kind of stuff. Reading about some of the technologies that were in the pipeline from all sides, it's a good thing the war ended when it did, else we might not be conversing right now... :o

Hello guys, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section or I'm doing something wrong.

I downloaded the mod, everything seems to work apart from the fact that I can't start the campaign, when I get into the office I can only click on the medals and the options, nothing else.

I searched everything but I can't find a solution, any help?

Thank you.

1. Which version of Silent Hunter 4 do you have (v1.3, .4 or .5)?
2. Where did you get it (disk, Steam, or some other download)?
3. Where did you install the game - ie C:\Program Files (x86)?
4. Is the folder structure of the mod in the MODS folder correct?

These and many other questions come to mind, but that's enough for now...:03:
