Perhaps he lives by that classical ethic that a man's name is his bond, thus making it worth quite a lot. :know:

If you are demanded to register, there is a purpose. Probably it's just for counting the clients, probably. But possibly it's just for gathering personal data and selling it to any kind of spammers - possibly. As I hate to be disturbed by spammers or pedlars (who miraculously know I love potatoes and accidentally have one that I'll like for sure) I won't give away my data just to download a one-purpose programme I can live without. :88) "Free" means "no, you don't have to give me anything back for it, just take it and enjoy". :arrgh!: EDIT: GWX is free. You are encouraged to donate, but you don't have to. You can just DL and play. SubSim is free (registration serves a real purpose here), you are encouraged to donate, use the shop and Amazon reflinks, but you don't have to. That's the way it works with most real freeware programmes. |
It's free - but the registering seems to cause a delay because they often don't send the link on the same day.
You can still download an older version from my site (without registering): www.christian-wendt.org/tatukgis.exe One day I hope to be able to release the site and will provide a direct download. |

EDIT: I've just tested the SH3 Gen. Though I knew about the icebergs, their massive quantity around French coast in September '40 a kind of shocked me. :ping: I was also very confused abuot my first order... Penetrate Portland port, kill many, leave ASAP and undetected. And BdU was not joking... :nope: So as for now I'm heading East (from North Atlantic) and writing my epitaph to send it on radio before we reach GB coast (I'll kill the radioman if he tells the guys). BdU provided us with no net/mine maps of the port, no comprehensive information about the guards and measures of safety... no date. This is a kind of kamikaze mission, and I really dislike the idea. But that's an order and I'll do my best... :dead: As you see, I just love your mod. It really ads for immersion (but those icebergs) and helps play in a role-play style. As a Kaleun I hate the order I got, but as a player I love the idea of getting an order at all! Still to try the maps thing, t could be even more interesting. Thanks again. |
Hi, I just wanted to try it out, but for some reason it does not work. I followed the instructions, but whenever I select a save game, the "Generate" button keeps being greyed out so I can't click it. Any ideas?

QUESTION
Rather than pouring over all these pages what is the most updated version of this great mod and what fixes were made to it last? Oh and where is the best download site?

I use MultiSH and thus do not operatre from my standard save game folder but that shouldn't be the problem? |

You might also look under Settings->General if the Silent hunter III path is set correctly otherwise it won't work. Still, incompatibility with MultiSH is my best bet as to whats causing your prob. Quote:
You can always restart Sh3Gen and generate another patrol if you're not satisfied with the mission, it should generate a different one every time - of course the same mission can repeat because the situation analyzed from the campaign data stays the same. I will look into into that when I make an update and see if I can provide more information for the missions or what else can be done to improve them. Your feedback is already highly appreciated  For the next version (planned around February/March) I am also planning to look into the iceberg issue, the spanish flags in Kiel and of course I will release the stand alone map generator that does not alter the savegame. Keep also in mind that Sh3Gen was released before GWX 2.0 and is therefore not fine tuned to it so results may vary - balancing with the most recent GWX is planned but requires a bit of time. Good hunting! |
I post here the same I wrote to a pm because this topic comes up repeatedly:
Unfortunately it is not possible to use Sh3Gen without save/reload, because Sh3Gen writes the new information into the savegame files - therefore you must load the savegame to see the changes to in the game. There is this option that many people seem to overlook: If you don't want to Alt-Tab you could run Sh3Gen on another computer or use a second monitor, if you have the required hardware - then you don't need Alt-Tab but then you must still reload. |
